So, here's how it went.My friend and I were building a world with a handful of resource packs on it. After about 2-3 days worth of work, we both started seeing this floating torch when we looked around. (I'm playing on windows 10, and my friend is playing on Xbox One. We both saw it.) The way I got around the torch problem was re-texturing the torch to make it invisible, so it stopped appearing. Soon after building some custom trees, a giant leaf block just started appearing around us, similar to the torch. I don't want to re-texture this block because we are using it. This problem applies no matter what gamemode you're in, or if it's a world or a realm. I attempted to fix the problem by taking off all of the resource packs because I thought it was a resource pack issue, but no luck.
Although, these 2 blocks only appear if we are looking at the area, and if we're actually close enough to it, but the range of this effect is pretty big.

I'm also having the same problem. I've recently bought a realm and I can't use it because it is a world that requires a texture pack to work properly. I'm losing some realm time, so I hope this gets fixed as soon as possible! I think it is specifically affecting v1.7.1 because it wasn't doing this in v1.7.
It is a superflat world.
