Tobias Israel: What render distance are you using? MC-63093 (closely related) was marked as intended since the people that confirmed it set their render distances too high.

As this bug still exists in the latest snapshots, i want to add that it is direction dependent. In East-West direction the cart doesn't turn and falls straight off a rail. In north-south orientation it turns to the left.
Jukeboxes don't have an inventory either.
I don't think it's working as intended - I think, Dinnerbone forgot to add the check for daylight sensors when he applied the 'look through the block mode'
ok, for some reason, I was under the the impression, the light level would get saved within the detector and therefore a comparator would be necessary.

AFter reading up on the wiki, I now feel stupid
Of course it's working as intended. Pls close it
Had the same issue. Running seems to be really slow
I too have this problem in 1.6.2. Client is definitely not modded. I can provide a crash report, if necessary.
Done.
I updated Java and gfx driver, which were only minor updates. The flashing keeps happening. But it seems to only occur when I play with "balanced" in the video settings.
Still an issue as of 1.8.1-pre1.
Can provide further technical details, if neccessary
