It seems the new hitbox allwaos the user to get stuck in double chests, by jumping on the side of the chest. Maybe a server desynchronisation issue.
Video :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_Xc7GrFkrcHow to reproduce :
Place two chests next to each other. Jump, multiple tries may be needed. Orientation may change the results.EDIT : Still works as of 13w03a. You can simply try it by placing an anvil and a fence diagonally and trying to walk trough them.

Explanation of the bug in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1kon5Wax8I
&feature=youtu.beThe hitbox of some blocks (chests, anvils) are not correctly registered and you can get stuck, or at least trigger a client/server desync while walking/jumping into sides of those blocks.
Steps to reproduce changed with the updates, but the glitch still exists. Here is a detailed explanation and steps to reproduce :

(this bug only happens in linux)
When clicking on the Multiplayer button, the GPU usage jumps to 100% until the game is restarted. Only this GUI is affected, and it seems to happen only on linux. Not all linux players are affected though. Combined with https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-70715 , 1.8 is unplayable on linux.

I tried creating a new (Creative) world in 1.8, in singleplayer.
I expected it to load fine, just like in 1.7.10.Instead, the game forces the Pause menu to show up, and pressing escape doesn't unpause the game. I see no world behind the pause menu, just a black screen. (normally, at least the sky should appear)

EDIT : After trying it again, the same bug does not reproduce, but a different one. The game gets stuck on "Downloading terrain" for a while, then loads chunks very slowly. Toggling VBOs or changing chunk distance does not help.

It seems setting chunk distance higher than 16 before loading the world puts the internal server in ultra-slow mode.

Please add some content. A video is needed since it didn't happen for me.
Please reopen for adventure mode. Server should detect and correct invalid movements.
Still affects 1.7.10 & 14w26c, but the glitch is now rarely triggered by the player. Updated steps to reproduce.
Please update the affected versions. Also, lwjgl blocks the use of some keys using an alternate keyboard layout.
Well, most adventure maps give blocks to the player. With this glitch the player can easily cheat and go over walls.
No, it is fixed in a sepcific version of LWJGL, mojang just needs to add it to the launcher.
Happens to me with the i3 WM, on a 7870 Ghz edition.
@tulius can't change LWJGL version since the new launcher, it overwrites it...
This is definetely not the result of a bad computer. In 15 chunks it loads instantly, and I have 300+ fps. But when I set it to more, restart the game and join the world, it doesn't load the chunks.
