I was practicing to defeat the ender dragon when the ender dragon killed me as usual. When I went back to the end however, I could hear the dragon, but I couldn't see it or attack it. Even the /kill command wouldn't work. However, it could still attack me by both ramming into me and breathing fireballs.
Steps to reproduce:
- Go to the end and go to survival.
- Kill the player
- Go back to the end.
Edit: It happened again! Please fix this bug.
When I use the command "/data merge block ~ ~-1 ~ {item:{id:diamond}}" on suspicious sand, it doesn't change the block data.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Create a new world on 1.20 pre4.
- Place down suspicious sand.
- Stand on top of the suspicious sand.
- Use the command mentioned above.
- While still on the suspicious sand, type in "/data get block ~ ~-1 ~" to get the block data.
- You will notice that the block data didn't change if this affects all computers.
Notes: I remember this command working before.
When the deferred lighting is on, the game has a chance of forgetting to render certain blocks or parts of entities.

Below is an example of an unrendered torch.

Edit: It seems like it renders in some chunks, but doesn't in others.
I was testing out the quality of my videos on OBS studio when I discovered this issue. I noticed this issue only because of a strange double effect in my videos. (2 photos are added as attachments. One shows the double effect in OBS studio [2024-04-25 205303-1] while the other shows it in the gamer's perspective with some elements such as the version number slightly cut off.)
When I open Minecraft, it opens at 3840x2160p as usual. However, it decreases slightly when the game exits and re-enters fullscreen. By using OBS studio and some basic math, I figured out the resolution decreases to 3799x2137p.
I know this is a small bug, but by patching it, that would prevent some confusion in the future for any streamers, YouTubers, etc.

Edit: The double effect happens because there's one source recording just the game and another source that records everything on the computer. So I removed it and the problem is solved. (At least for what I was doing). Whether this bug is fixed or not. It won't be nearly as big of a problem now.

Also, before anyone asks, I have cheats on.
Note: It happens after the meeting. 99% sure it happens during the meeting too.
Edit: It doesn't seem to happen anymore, so this will probably end up being invalid.
Ok. I understand most of it at least. I hope it gets fixed soon.
I spent all day trying to fix this and nothing helped.
I attached the launcher log to the attachments in case that helps. (Note: I use OptiFine)
Edit: This may end up resulting as "cannot reproduce" because it's back to normal now.
Note: It seems to go to a future update number, a past update number, and back to the latest update.
I actually was on the wrong MS account on MS store, so I switched it. It's fixed now!
Edit: Never mind. It Jinxed me.
At first it wasn't but now it is! I noticed it says an installation bug that occurs when the launcher is closed is fixed in the "What's New" section. I think that's the bug I had. It was a weird bug but now I'm glad it's fixed.
Can confirm on 1.19.3. I run a paper server on Aternos and it had the normal Aternos icon small, except the back texture was a mob texture folded out like you usually see in the texture files (likely a camel, horse, donkey or mule) layed out like the pictures above. I joined the server and the camel texture broke (I had 1.20 and bundles datapacks on and it was still bugged when opening a local world with said datapacks). Restarting the game returned both the server icon and camel texture to normal.
I observed the sniffer behavior, and it seems like if one or both of the sniffers smell a seed, it stops the breeding process which is why it doesn't happen with other mobs. And yes, it also happens in 1.19.4 pre 3.
I can confirm too, still happens on 23w14a and discovered it when accidentally pushing a sniffer.
Still confirmed on 1.19.4
Thanks for the comment. I didn't know that was required, so it must've appeared in a snapshot without my knowledge.
I have the same issue. My post is
MCPE-180991Mine does describe it as a slightly lower resolution, but I also saw some other glitches you pointed out.
And yes I use an RTX card and have a 4K 2160p monitor.
For those that are especially annoyed by this bug, you can press F12 twice rapidly and see if that works. (It worked for me)
You do have to try a few times, but once it's in the proper resolution, everything should go smoothly.
Can confirm; checked the bug just now
Update; fixed in 24w34a
I can 100% confirm that this is happening with my 100% legitimately earned 15th anniversary cape. (not using third-party launcher)
Edit: Based on
MCL-24728, this is happening on Lunar client as well, so it further confirms this may not be a launcher-side issue. Can Confirm; I have no idea why this has been happening for so long. Until this bug is fixed, I'll be using .png files for my skins.
Edit: I just got tired of switching the skin slot every time I used a different device and decided to accept the skins as they are. Until this is over, i'll try my best to ignore it.
Another Edit: I realized the default eye and hair colors are orange and blue, so for some reason, the skin colors are switching to the default avatar colors.
If a Mojang developer is seeing this, they should know that this is an actual issue that a handful of people are having.
Edit #3: Another update; this seems to take effect on Android and Nintendo Switch, but not Windows from what I can tell.
Edit #4: This DOES seem to affect multiple devices. Multiple reports show this same issue on iOS, Android, Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox. For me, this issue occurred on Android but not Windows, so the consistency of this issue may vary from device to device. Because different devices are reported to have this bug, I think it may be a deeper-rooted issue that isn't directly related to the devices themselves. Some other possibilities worth checking are if it happens on specific types of hardware or operating system versions.
