When I go to a singleplayer world and spawn a tool/armor with meta data -30000, like /give mihko9 314 1 -30000 (to increase durability) and the rename it to anything, it will eventually disappear from my inventory when you move the item around your inventory and opening an furnace/chest/anvil/crafting table.
Steps to reproduce:
1.Open a world with cheats enabled.
2.Do /give [username] 314 1 -30000 a few times.
3.Rename all items(in this case golden helmets) to anything.

My minecraft.jar was somehow corrupted it's working now.
Works normally for me i am only very fast and 999 is the duration not the amplifier. Doing effect (player) 1 239 128+(must be 128 or over to work.) will cause you to become unable to move or move so slowly that it is not visible.
They said that they changed the way pistons update and that it might break BUD-s, so i think this is not a bug.
I can confirm, reproduce by jumping on a slime block while having a block above your head (2 blocks above the slime block).
