Vibrating screen when standing on a slime block
How to reproduce
- Place a slime block on the ground.
- Stand on it, press the sneak key and then release it again.
→
Your view now jiggles slightly forever until you walk off/destroy the block
This is not a rendering bug but a physics engine bug, as in older snapshots (before the F3 menu update) the 'g' value changed quickly between true and false.

Created Issue:
Flicker when standing on Slime Block
When standing on a Slime Block (by walking on it, doesn't happen when you stop bouncing) the screen flickers vertically.
Sorry if there are no screens, but it's really hard to capture the glitch in a screenshot.
Also affects 14w02b (not present on version list)
Environment
Windows 8.1
Java 1.7.0_45

Looking at F3 info, it looks like you jump a little bit ('g' changes between true and false) so this is not a rendering issue.

EDIT: This is a duplicate of MC-44352, please ignore.
Place a slime block on the ground, then place another block three blocks above it (so that there are two air blocks between the placed blocks).
Now jump onto the slime block. Note that the screen will now jitter, as if the player was moving up and down very fast. This jittering does not stop until the player exits the slime block. Pressing F3 indicates that the y-value is not changing, but the "g" value (bottom line of the F3 screen, indicates whether the player is touching the ground) is changing.

The last part of the ticket describes MC-44352, though I don't believe that ticket covers everything here.
Related to MC-44352. When standing on a slime block you always sometimes jitter as you increase Y value by 2 pixels then fall down back 2 pixels in about 4 frames. Sitting wolves always get up when falling so this is the answer to why this bug is happening.

Sounds like MC-44352
Probably caused by MC-44352
When a sitting animal is in the air it stops sitting until it is on the ground again
This issue duplicates MC-44352.
Might relate to MC-44352
Thank you for your report!
We're actually already tracking this issue at MC-44352, so we will resolve and link this ticket as a duplicate.

Different issue from MC-44352.
If you hold an item in your hand and walk across slime blocks, the item can be seen to vibrate slightly. Items do not seem to do this on other movement-slowing blocks such as soul sand.
Only happens in the same circumstances as MC-44352 did: only after the player sneaks on the slime block.
Looking at F3 info, it looks like you jump a little bit ('g' changes between true and false) so this is not a rendering issue.
Confirmed
I can confirm, reproduce by jumping on a slime block while having a block above your head (2 blocks above the slime block).
This is caused when you walk onto a slime block while exiting a non-slime block.
I recorded a video to report this bug, but it has already been reported. Here's the video anyways:

sometimes I don't get it... I do a search don't find anything then I report the bug, and then it seems to be a duplicate
×Facepalm×
Melvin Schop: No worries, I kind of forgot to mention your reported effect here
Posted bug report to this one too, but seems like someone was faster
Can confirm it by the way of course too. Like Chris said, it seems like some kind of physic-engine bug.
Still present in latest snapshot 14w07a.
Just checked, still present in 14w11b...
Confirmed for 14w20b when crouching on a slime block.
Still there in 14w25b (probably affects every version from 14w02a)
Just noticed this in in 14w26c.
Captured in a video, for those interested (way zoomed in, on a distant object, standing on a single slime block): http://cl.ly/WMXw/vid.mov
Still there in latest snapshot; added the video to the issue.

1.8 released, bug still present ~9 months after reporting.
Confirmed for 1.8.2-pre6
Still there in 1.8.2-pre7
It is partially a physics-engine bug but partially a rendering bug; Disabling view bobbing stops the visual side of this behaviour, but would still result in the OnGround tag (old F3 'g' value) rapidly changing.

This is still a bug in 17w06a; and, since it seems it's not mentioned here, this bug does not happen when you let yourself naturally bounce down.
Confirmed for 1.13-pre5
Cannot reproduce in 1.14 Release. What are your feedbacks?
Cannot reproduce anymore either. If anyone could find out in which exact version this was fixed, that would be appreciated.
Resolved as "Fixed in 1.14". However, this issue was probably fixed at some point between 19w07a and 1.14, not 1.14 itself.
