Bedrock edition on my phoneA snowy mountains biome about a 100 blocks in the air
I have made multiple farms in a sever with my friends in java edition. I have tried breeding villagers around 3 times now, and I still haven't had any success. I have replaced all of my villagers at least three times now, and still nothing. At first I thought it was my design, so I got new villagers and rebuilt the entire thing following every tutorial I could find. I made sure there were 20 beds, enough work stations, plenty of bread, and a bell, but I would only get red harts for about a minute before I would get yellow broken hearts above their heads. I then thought maybe it was my biome(a mushroom island biome) so I moved everything into an ocean biome and got new villagers. Again, the same thing happened. So then I watched more tutorials for this version, and built a new design and got new villagers from a completely different village, but still they keep having red hearts and then getting yellow broken hearts. I have made sure that all of the villagers are able to take a job, and I have also made sure that there is adequate beds, workstations, and food for the villagers to breed, but it doesn't matter how many thousands of blocks I travel for new villagers, I get the same results in my breeders. Any way I can fix this quickly so that I can continue on my projects? (I did another 4 hours of testing and discovered the problem. I had a glass block in front of the beds to keep villagers from reaching them, however, I didn't realize that villagers cannot see through glass, however, putting a trap door there made the villagers acknowledge that there were beds there, and they instantly made baby villagers, sorry to bug you guys with this, but I guess this isn't an issue anymore, though making it so villagers could see through glass would be very helpful.) Sorry again, I hope this helps anyone else who is struggling to make villagers work.

I took have found this. I have also found that iron golems don't care what they spawn on in my world. I have watched them spawn in walls in the floor on glass, on slabs and on leaves. And no matter what changes I make to my farm, nothing spawns. I just tried to fix it the other day and still nothing. I added another 20 villagers to see if that would help, but nothing still, if you guys could recommend some quick fixes, it would be really appreciated.
I too have experienced insane lag. My furnaces have started taking up to 2 whole minutes to smelt one iron ingot. I have messed with settings, and nothing helps. This world was made on 1.16.4, and it worked perfectly until the new update. I have an underground base, and my cows and sheep are now completely still, and my villager breeder keeps making new villagers, but none are growing up. Also, my villager keep disappearing when I log in, and showing back up after I reload, what the heck is going on????? I am playing on my phone which is an Android. Plz help, because I love this game, and right now, it is unplayable.
I got the hotfix 1.16.101 and the block lag is still terrible on android, and villagers are super slow, and mobs are teleporting from where I last saw them. Hoppers and redstone and rails are also super slow now. And it is taking close to a full minute to smelt one potato, and it takes a full bucket of lava to smelt 10 now. Blocks will often re-appear after being broken, and the items will float and bounce down for five seconds before being picked up into my inventory. What is going on? The game is thankfully somewhat playable now thanks to the hotfix, but it is still terrible on the lag with animal, villager, redstone, hoppers, furnaces, rails, and minecarts. Please figure out a way to fix this or reverse the update. I would rather have the smooth playing than any new features added to the game.
P.S.
If there is some way where I could share the world so you guys could run tests, I would be more than happy to help out. I want this to be a better experience for everyone, so if I can help in any way, let me know, that k you for taking the time to read each of these, and to truly do everything in your power to make it better!
Matthew Little, I ran your test because I was curious, and I definitely agree that villagers are a huge source of lag, I also did some tinkering after the villagers were in that world, and it seemed as if my tick speed had become almost 10 times slower, especially with redstone. Buttons would stay clicked for up to 30 seconds, and it took 4 minutes to smelt ten potatoes, and used a full bucket of lava. I don't know if the villagers are the reason for this, but it also seems to affect rails, minecarts, portals, trading, and iron golem spawning.
