The bug
Yellow absorption hearts appear undepleted on the death screen after being killed by /kill, unlike the ordinary red hearts.

How to reproduce
- Ensure you are in Survival or Adventure mode
- Give yourself the absorption effect:
/effect give @s absorption
- Kill yourself using the /kill command:
/kill
→
The yellow absorption hearts are not depleted
Or someone trying to prank you...
