Hi,
i have the same issue in linux open suse leap 15.1 in two diferent machines whith linux when i close the launcher in version 1.17.1 it does not keep the password.
Before upgrading to 1.17.1 it was working fine.
But in windows 10 it keeps the password whith 1.17.1.

This issue is not related to
MCL-18331Logged Out Of Minecraft Launcher After Restarting Computer.Because it hapens every time i shutdown the Minecraft launcher, and i do not shutdown the PC.
And in my PC whith windows 7 and windows 10 it does not hapen. Only in linux java.
So it is a bug in minecraft launcher in linux.
There ate more people complaning for the same bug, for exemple:
