Semih TURKER regrets if this has already been suggested, but have you tried transferring the world to another device, trying to load it on that device, and if successful, copying that world back to the first device?
I have previously used that strategy (transferring to a PC running win10 MCPE) to recover corrupt worlds. I know this is trickier where your world files are very large, but there hasn't been much movement on this issue, so I wanted to try.

Semih TURKER Although the bug reported there mentions playing over a local area network, you can see from the comments that it also affects single player, and that it affects Minecraft Pocket Edition across several platforms, including Windows 10, Android and iOS. You can add a vote and any additional comments to MCPE-12347 if you want.
It says it is fixed but it is not fixed on iOS MCPE! I dont see it, problem remains. It is not fixed...
Before the 0.13.0 update all were working alright. It is the same world I was playing in. I could not even add anything yet because of the world does not load correct,mostly I wait in a night sky with stars to see the world will be loaded. What have they added to 0.13.0 could not crash iPad2 yet!
Its easy to blame the processor or devices yet world is not loading correct.
All was ok and stabile on 0.12.3 and that was normal not this.

Yes we have been playing my map for almost a year wtih my nephews... Collected supplies of all kind on a giant storages. I have several Cities, several temples with secrets burried under. I even have a Karnak (Valley of the Kings of Ancient Egypt!) I have Temple of Artemis from Anatolia built in with entire map connected to each other with subway railroads. Entire map has highways (aoutıbahn) from four corners to the other one with the railway system and plus Ive built watch towers every 10 Clicks. Damn I can not delete it come on now! It would hurt bad to delete my admiralship map, please note our cryout! :S
Yes indeed! Can not use trapdoor for the fornitures any more! Everytime we exit and enter the game they are misplaced, opened or closed or changed the touch place.

Yes,this happens to me in survival mode too, didnot checked it for creative mode thou!
Same thing happens to us when we try to play the 0.12.3 and older games with 0.13.0 update... Is it the same for you too? And this happens to us with large games like 580MB size of the game? I could not play the game I could play for like a year at all updates but now could not even look another direction within the game it just got frozen screen and/or day or nite sky with stars and no world map appears. I wonder if it is the same for you too??????
Well another update has been released for the iPad and there is no solution in it for this issue. Still could not play the oldmaps we have worked so hard on. Nothing gets loaded first blue sky and when all came could not move because of the lag and slow response of the game. No solutions, nothing. I was hoping for this one! At least could someone say that;
"You can not play your minecraft pe maps that you made before the 0.13.0 or if it is larger than 500MB" or something.
Then I will consider to delete my map that I have been playing for more than a year now. Or at least why we have these lags on our good, old maps?

Salute... I purchased the MCPE from AppStore and I do not have purchased the game on any other devices. I am guessing you are saying that I need to buy like Win10 version of the MCPE and try the map on over the Win10 device. If it works than move same map back to iPad. Thats a nice marketing strategy thou! Mojang needs to hire you on sales department.
My map wasnt corrupt man! All was working ok and plus you are a gamer, I ve worked my ass off to make that world and collected all the goods in the storages. It was my grand little world and now I can not even enter to that map, it just gets worst now.
Cannot start all over again, you may know the feeling when you start brand new Survival World and looking around yourself to start chopping wood to get started, meanwhile all your wealth is on the other map which is not playable any more. Its just a hudge setback. I unfortunately dont even play MCPE any more because of this sittuation.
This is like my 10th best map has been sacrificed to Gods of Mojang whom requires map-sacrifices on every great update they do. Sick and tired of starting all over again. It is like we are not allowed to have worked hard, time spent large maps I guess. I feel like doomed to have a Neanderthal Life form to live in caves and dont do much just survive so your map would not be over 500MBs...
May be this is only iOS situation. I am wondering. It looks/seems like no one cares!

I wonder so much what could be the problem that on every update the old maps are being un-playable lately.
Whatever they do to make it better, makes it all worst.
I mean, this is a billion dollar company not some highschool kids doing programming on their parents garage!
They are trying to make us see it as it is so ok that they can mess up a game that we have paid for and they are geting paid for on every update they make.

Those copy cats dont mess up the entire game on each update they publish!

I am sick and tired of loosing my worked hard, time spend maps for some irresponsible programmers act like they dont even know what they are doing, plus they can even tweet about it shouting out hard.
If I was gonna sue Mojang MCPE for lack of responsibility of their sell, those programmers tweets would be my main evidence on the court-case.
See!!! No one cares our maps are gone trash, they have no clue what is wrong with the game to even reply to this title.

Yes what Nancy Vieth says happened to me too. I was so happy that this was fixed and I did play my old game several times to fix things and now all the sudden nada! Game crashes and kicks you out to main screen, meanwhile on background game looks like sill running. Its really messed up! (iPad Air iOS 9.3.1)
Unfortunately after 3 or 4 times playing it with crashes, now the game is not playable again. When I try to start the map, game crashes to main screen. So, I need to report this is not fixed for good may be temporary worked or something.

Ive searched before I posted and I did see that post you all referring me to but that subject and my problem are not same. That thread talks about multiplayer game does the crash and has a chest sittuation in it.
Mine is not multiplayer case and has nothing to do with chests, I was building buildings and this happens to me when I am single player in the game.
That topic says PC something, I am on my iPad (Pocket Edition), these two threads has nothing to do with each other.
...And again, I did searched before I posted.
When I am building my buildings, all the sudden I see a black screen for a little while and iOS main screen. Game crashed, I can tell by what I see.
Meanwhile game looks working on the background and I touch the game and game restarts, I look at the map I was working on and I see like before the crash my map was 153MB and after the crash my Map is like 141MB WTF!!!
I enter the game and there!!! All most of the recent things that I have done, is gone! Gone for good.
Such a setback, Ive worked so hard to complete the building and now all is half way down-lost standing right front of my eyes. This is crazy and it is frustrating
This happened to me like 4 times already. Its not a one time thing, so I need to report!
Could not enter the map. On each try game crashes to main iOS screen on iPad2Air. Makes me start the game all ober again.
Same Problem on iOS iPad, game crashes and MCPE is unplayable again for the previous maps.
Nothing is fixed! Game crashes on start to main iPad screen and makes you open up the game again and meanwhile you see the game looks like open on background but crashes again. Game could not upload the map surroundings and crashes. Maps are not playable again.

Yeah, sure related or unrelated squeeze all reports has crash word in it to this chapter has nothing to do with our problems on iOS so no one would pay attention. Way to go manage team
Yes! Game crashes after playing it several minutes on old maps. When it is crashed you return to game waay back so there is a data loss happens. It takes forever to enter to the game. Old or new maps are not playable ones again.
