While exploring with a map in inventory, whether the map is selected or not, causes the server to crash. All players on the server are also kicked, and no one is able to rejoin the server for about 5 minutes with error "Unable to connect to world". When traveling to area without a map, everything works fine.
* UPDATE * This issue only occurs when a) you venture into the area in which it is occuring; AND b) the map is selected in the hotbar. If you select the map while within the area of the problem, the server will crash. Again, the server will crash because it kicks all players off, not just the person with the map. I have recreated this problem with two different computers on two different LAN's, and two different realms (one is survival and the other is creative), with the other players either on the same LAN or on seperate LAN's. It is easiest to recreate this issue on creative mode (because of flying), with a 1:16 map (I have had it on both 1:16 and 1:4).

Can confirm on 1.2.0.18. Using fireworks to boost flying with elytra causes significant damage to an unarmored player.
I created a 16 village iron golem farm using village chaining. After saving and reloading the game, once the first autosave occurs, the villages merge into one. The area of the farm is in a ticking area. Included is a zip containing the world prior to the merge. Once the autosave happens, the villages will merge.
It must be noted that I do not think it is happening on autosave. That is just the only time I can view the updated NBT data.

Separate test:
1. Create a village with 22 doors and 10 villagers.
2. Wait for an iron golem to spawn
3. Punch a villager to anger iron golem
4. Make sure the iron golem doesn't kill you (run into a structure too small for him to enter)
5. Save and quit
6. Log back in. The iron golem won't be angry anymoreExtra: villagers won't run from you for negative attitude points because the old village doesn't exist anymore (their attitude resets to neutral)

These are the areas in which the problem is occuring
I have tried a couple of things. Firstly, I went to the problem areas and attempted to use an empty map to see if it would do anything. It renders a blank map and then crashes the game. So I downloaded the world to my local computer and tried it from there. When downloaded and played locally, the maps do render without the game crashing. However, while in the problem areas, my CPU usage jumps from around 10% to 70% and the terrain takes about 25 seconds to fully load. My CPU remains running high while in the problem area but drops back to normal when outside of it. What I've noticed is it mostly happens when there are 3 or more biomes within an area. On the attached image you'll notice that the upper right problem area is the intersection for a swamp, forest, and plains. The bottom left is a little harder to tell, but it is an ocean, plain, and forest. However, there are other areas that have 3 biomes with no issue. I have tried looking all around the problem areas and have not noticed a discernible pattern. As Dino Roger mentioned, his problem happens around villages and indeed, both problem areas on my screenshot have villages close by. But there are several other areas with villages that I've explored with no issue at all.
It's Windows 10 beta version. Seed shows as 0 and there is no way to find coordinates. Also, it happens on every seed but only while on a realm. If the world is downloaded locally, it does not crash.
Ok, I was able to find the seed and coordinates. For anyone interested, you have to download your realm locally to get the seed. Enable cheats and go to the problem area. Press the / key and type "tp ~ ~ ~" (without the quotes). This will give you the coordinates.
Seed:
-635438843
Coordinates:
588, 109, -1633
309, 79, -372
In order to replicate the bug, it has to be on multiplayer realms. The first coordinates will put you on a mountain with spruce trees, if you create a map right there the server will crash.
@Jonas Go into edit for your realm (the button that looks like a pencil). Click "Download world". After it downloads it will show up in your local worlds list (usually called "(your realm name) - copy"). Edit that world and enable cheats, then go to the area causing the problem, bring up the cheat menu by pressing / and type tp ~ ~ ~ (so it looks like "/tp ~ ~ ~"). This will give the coordinates and ensure you don't enable cheats on your multiplayer realm.
@Nikki, yeah it's a beta game so it is bound to have some bugs. Sorry to hear about your bad experiences.
If you were the owner of the realm you can find the coordinates following instructions on an earlier comment I made. If you need, I will repeat the instructions. If your husband is the owner of the realm he will have to do it (unless he is still stuck not being able to log in). The more information Mojang has from us, the better, but don't fret it too much.
My appologies. You are right. What I meant is that it is nowhere near as complete as the Java version. Once it is, it will be better than the Java version (because Java is a horrible way to create a game on the scale as Minecraft). I too wish that these bugs will be fixed with expediency. Getting angry won't help; giving good and accurate information will.
I no longer have this issue in the updated version. The maps don't crash the game.
I can confirm this on Windows 10 version 1.2.0.11. They only spawn in darkness, on stone (no other block), and only if there is no sky access.
I can confirm that this does not work. However, I do not think Mojang wants players to have the ability to make 3x3 glass elevators. The only thing fixed between 1.1 and 1.2 is that items no longer get stuck inside transparent blocks. Rather, they transfer to the nearest open area. So I believe this is working as intended.
I have seen them spawn in swamps. They spawn during a full moon. But I believe the spawn mechanics for slime chunks and swamps are different. I messed around in creative mode with a slime chunk and the only time I've gotten them to spawn is with platforms of stone (I've tried cobblestone, quartz, and iron blocks, but I haven't tried dirt). It has to have no sky access, and the spawns are better (but still horid) if there is a layer of water at level 62 (sea level). And there cannot be any light source or they won't spawn.
This is not a duplicate of that bug. That bug is A) from an older version, this is a bug that started after 1.2 update and B) that wasn't a bug because the reporter was wondering why slimes to spawn naturally everywhere.
Lighting with anything, torches included, prevented any slime spawn for me. I do the ilmango design as well.
I can confirm that this bug is still unresolved as of 1.2.0.22
[EDIT]: I use Windows 10 edition, so it is multi-device.
This is because, although the cocoa looks small, it still takes up the size of a block. As such, it would appear like it is floating. This would be expected. When the cocoa is broken, the torch drops, so the torch wouldn't be actually floating. I would say the bug would be that a torch can be placed on a cocoa to begin with.
I have this same issue but I think it is an XBox Live issue. If you navigate XBox Live and find your friend who is inviting you, it should say what they are doing (playing Minecraft) and give you an option to join them. If you click that join option, it should connect you in. That is what worked for me, anyway.
You are doing nothing wrong. Sugar cane grow rates are significantly reduced in the Windows 10/PE edition. I would suggest making a farm of at least 30-35 crops.
The item elevator was a bug in the PC version. However, they could not remove it without causing an uproar. Mojang does not want a glass item elevator in PE. I agree it would be useful, because dropper elevators create a lot of lag, but I doubt they will give the function.
In 1.2 they changed it so the item in transparent blocks get transported to the next available area so they do not get stuck. In other words, this bug is fixed as of 1.2.
I have this same issue. What I do is this: I navigate XBox live to the host's profile (they must be in your friends list), on there profile you should see something that says what they are doing (playing Minecraft). It should give you an option to join them. Click that button and it should allow you to connect to the world.
This has been fixed as of 1.2 update
This bug still affects 1.2.0.22 on Windows 10
What r.takahashi meant is that it only affects players. Mobs can damage farmland, but players cannot. They were not disputing your video.
I can confirm this. Regardless of if the endermite is in a minecart or not, the enderman will not attack. I tested with both ender pearl spawning and spawn egg spawning, in overworld and in the end.
I can confirm this on Windows 10. Even using the /tp command, "1488" turns into "xxxx" in the chat menu.
I have also tested this in multiple settings. Prior to the Better Together update the slime would spawn regardless of light level. Now they only spawn when dark, and rarely at that. They are supposed to spawn in slime chunks regardless of light level, but this is not the case.
I believe this is what the reporter is talking about. When a redstone device is connected to powered redstone, it straightens the redstone (as opposed to being shaped like a +). A block placed adjacent to the straight redstone also becomes powered, but the redstone doesn't appear to connect to the block.
I can confirm that this has been fixed as of 1.2.1. I don't know about rates, but slime do spawn regardless of light level within slime chunks now.
Still affects 1.2.1
Although we all want glass elevators, this is not a bug. This version of Minecraft does not allow glass item elevators.
Still affects 1.2.3
I can confirm this. However, I do not think it is due to chunk loading/unloading. I have a villager (for a wheat farm) set in a ticking area (so it is not unloaded). Both the villager and the hopper minecarts I have underneath the farm disappear randomly. It is not affected by going to the nether because I often do that and the villager is fine. I have done the troubleshooting of interacting with the villager and the hopper minecarts (which in an eariler version fixed this issue), but it does not seem to have an effect.
After further testing, it only happens when the village centers are within the radius of each other (32 blocks). Outside of the radius they do not merge. My guess was that on loading, the village center was checking for doors within 32 blocks. So I made the doors be 33 blocks away from the village center. However, this caused the villages to split (one village on one side and another village on the other). So now, my guess is that the village data is not being loaded and the villages are being recreated on reload.
I am also experiencing this. It happens both on realms and on single player
I've had some success with slimes. If it is in a slime chunk, the trick is to block off sky access. If there are any spots that are below light level 15, they need to spawn on solid stone (I've tried everything from cobblestone to diorite, and solid stone works the best). In swamps, they only spawn during a full moon. They won't be everywhere, but you'll eventually find them.
I do agree that the spawn rates should be increased. Slime is necessary for sticky pistons, which is an essential component to redstone. Not having access to a decent amount of slime limits the gameplay experience for people who enjoy the redstone aspect of the game.
In the video I just uploaded, I created one village. I throw snowballs at the villager to show the angry particles that only happen when a villager is in a village. I use a piston to move him out of the range of the door, and throw snowballs to show he is still in the village. I save and load the game and throw the snowballs to show no particle effects. Because he is out of range of the door, and the village data is possibly not loaded, he is no longer in a village and not in range to create a village. This was the best visual representation I could think of and is easily reproduced.
I changed the bug title to read "Village data does not load" because it is a more accurate description of the bug.
They work for me. Do you have your Pickaxe, Axe, Shovel, or Fishing Rod in your main hand when you collect the XP? For the Mending to work, you have to be holding or wearing the item you want mended.
On my server, I'm creating a 3-chunk slime farm using adjacent slime chunks. So far we are down below Y:40, but hadn't noticed any slime spawns. However, last night I came down one level and found a pocket of zombies (they were spawning at the top of a stream and being pushed into one area). I killed them all and lit up the area they were spawning in, and I immediately was getting a LOT of slime spawns.
So my suggestion is to make sure you light up the area. If anything other than slime spawn, they take up the mob cap and slime are less likely to spawn. If you are looking for them in a swamp, light up the swamp. Also, they only spawn in swamps during a full moon.
I have noticed this on my server. However, I can never reproduce it myself (I am the server OP). It only happens when other players (non-OP's) log in and spawn in a place out of range of the entities in question. The entities are in a testing area. So I currently have two hypotheses: either they won't despawn for me because I own the server or since I am the one interacting with them, they won't despawn for me but will for players who haven't interacted with them. Although the latter sounds more plausible, the former is more likely because I have a semi-auto cow farm that the other players often use (which of course requires feeding the cows). If the latter were true, they would not despawn for anyone because they have been interacted with by everyone. However, they do despawn anyway.
I was logged in and the entities were there. My wife logged in and a bunch of the entities disappeared (especially minecart hoppers, which is quantifiable and easy to notice missing). I made her and the other person on the server OP, and so far so good. I will keep you all updated in the following days if this works. But if it does, then I believe the issue is that they don't despawn for OP's but they do despawn for non-OP's.
Ok, after several days with all members of my server with OP status, all of my checked entities have despawned (aside from one cow). So my hypothesis is incorrect.
Still affects 1.2.9
I would hold off on OPing your players. It didn't work. I'm hoping that the new update fixed it, but it is too early to tell. I know that when you interact with an entity, they get a tag called "Persistent" activated. It obviously doesn't do anything.
Yes. Minecarts, villagers, cows, etc. are all entities. General rule, anything that can move independently is an entity.
I've had boats despawn as well as Minecart+other. I've also used nametags to try and keep entities but they despawn as well. So not even nametags work.
Still affects 1.2.10.2
And it definitely might have something to do with villagers wandering away. When the game reloads; they might not realize they are in a village (especially if the village doors are over 16 blocks away and prevented from sky access). I have noticed that behavior on one of the servers I play on, but I have not tested it. My own server is pro-automated farming and so we mostly keep villagers pretty trapped, so the wandering issue never has become a problem. The formerly mentioned server, however, is anti-automated farming so we generally build custom-made villages and we have problems with the villagers wandering to their deaths.
I've got a three slime-chunk farm. As I was digging it, there were a bunch of slime. After completing the farm there is not a single spawn. Luckily the amount of slime I got from digging the farm has been sufficient thus far, but it is annoying to do all that work for no continued production. I wonder if there is a limit to the amount of slime that can spawn within a spawn chunk.
And this also continues with the latest update.
Just for curiosity, are your villagers name-tagged? I noticed that when villagers are name-tagged they stop farming. I found this out from testing a separate bug, but I haven't actually written one up because I didn't have enough details.
I know with the Java version, they are bundling all the fixes with the Aquatic update. They might be doing the same with our version.
I'm not sure about servers, but if this is a single player game just exit out and come back in. because of MCPE-29902 village data doesn't load. So once you exit out and come back in, the village gets recreated and all negative attitudes from villagers and iron golems gets reset.
So far no one has found a solution. I'm hoping it will be included in all the fixes planned for 1.13. I have honestly stopped playing until they fix it because it is game breaking.
This still exists in 1.2.13
This still exists in 1.2.13
The anger particles is to give people a way to test without external programs. I use a program to read the village data and the actual data does not load. I create and verify that I've created a village, I move the villager out of the range of the door (where a new village would not be created if there was not a village there) but still in the radius of the village (so the village is not deleted). I wait 2 minutes to verify the village is still there, then I log off and log back in. Because the village data does not load, it does not exist; and because the villager is not in range of the door to create a new village, a new one is not created.
This appears to be fixed in the 1.9 update. The anger particles mentioned in the description still don't show unless the player brings up a trade menu with one of the villagers (which is most likely a different bug). However, using a third-party application to view the saved data, the village information is still present upon reload.
I have been able to reproduce this bug. When making an iron golem (i.e. 4 iron blocks and a carved pumpkin), if water or lava is touching either the head or feet of the iron golem, it will not turn into one. It makes water-transported iron golem farms impossible to create. And, because cats do spawn in water blocks with their entire bodies submerged, but iron golems won't spawn if their feet get wet, I would call this a bug.
I just tested this with newest RTX beta (just to see if it is an issue in any upcoming updates) and the iron golem farm works fine.
