I am also getting this issue on PS4. I am about 10 hours into the game on legendary but cannot progress any further because after playing for a couple minutes I get this same error. I've tried clearing up save data space and storage space on my PS4 but that didn't help so I think it has something to do with the world not being able to save or the save file being too large. My world has probably a couple thousand structures between the villages because there are so many towers and walls everywhere (although this crash has happened both inside and out of villages, so I think it has something to do with the save file).
I'll add some additional details. Whenever I check if this issue is persisting, I am deleting all my saved data on my PS4 system storage, and re-downloading my cloud save which shows as 134.3 MB. On the main menu file select screen, pressing start to "Rename/Delete Files" shows my save as 38.1 MB. Pressing triangle to view the autosaves shows 4 autosaves with the top one being the "newest".
If I the next most recent autosave (the one from the previous day) I can play for about 30 minutes to an hour before eventually encountering the issue again.
More info after another couple days of attempting to play:
My world is deleted/corrupted, as was mentioned in the original description of the issue. When I go to the main menu I only have the option to start a new story. This only happened after loading the previous autosave and playing for a bit, then reaching a stopping point and saving my game and uploading it to the cloud. I'm assuming this is directly related to the original problem, since this was after well over a dozen "out of save data storage space" errors where I got kicked to the menu. Basically, the more I attempt to play, the more issues I encounter with saving/loading the world.
Since the actual event of being kicked to the menu has happened to me so many times, I can say it has happened to me in a variety of situations. It has happened in the wilderness, at the starting area, in villages with or without lots of structures, and (most frequently) piglin bases. I think it is just happening whenever the game attempts to save, though.
Not sure if this is even relevant, but whenever I view my save data on the PS4, there is always 2 saves which are the same size. At the main menu, if you press triangle to view autosaves, it shows 5 (with the top one being current). I'm not sure how that is all being handled, but some more information or settings would be a good QOL improvement. It would be nice to delete old autosaves I know I don't need or just have some way of troubleshooting our own saves better.
I would expect more people to encounter this issue the further they play the game, since it got progressively worse for me. Considering I played all day right when the game came out, I think we are among the first to have this problem. I have no idea how things are handled behind the scenes, but it would be good to prioritize this since it is making the game unplayable, which is very frustrating if you are excited to play a brand new game, and other people might be disappointed too if this happens to them
