Yeah, mine crashes when attempting to convert too. 4 1/2 years of work that I would love to bring over. Hits anywhere between 70 and 90 percent and then crashes my game and sometimes my entire console.
Weeks of waiting and still no work seems to have been done to resolve the problem. And now changes to the Legacy version file are not being synced over to the new version. Starting to lose faith and patience. 4 years of work cannot be simply, "remade."
This is a manifestation of MCPE-35364. Very widespread. It has been confirmed Via Community Consensus. Don't delete the world in case they fix it. Best of luck.
I have been able to load my world since the update. It seems that it fixed worlds with the "sync" issue but not the corruption issue. I am stricken to believe they are two different bugs. I wish you all the best of luck. I don't suggest deleting worlds as some already did considering they were able to fix some problems already. Stay optimistic.
This sounds very bad. I will make sure to inform some friends of mine about this. I will do some testing in creative to observe the phenomenon. Hopefully Mojang can figure out what causes this. So to initiate the glitch you:
Summon the Ender Dragon in the End normally.
Have all players in the End die while the Dragon is alive.
Respawn and re-enter the End.
Exit the End via the Exit Portal.
Upon doing this, the Ender Dragon will appear at the default world spawn point.
I just did a factory reset on my Xbox with keeping data and it triggers this problem as well. I am unsure of what to do. It is only doing this on my large world though. I'm getting the Not Fully Synced response.
I am suffering from this issue too. Just after they fixed the other issue recently too. I hope it gets fixed soon. It doesn't crash my game like the last one. It seems to be unable to sync the last 25% of certain world files over a certain threshold. Mine happened after a factory reset of my Xbox.
It seems to be a problem with syncing data on larger world files. Yes, I know I said it before, but it is only happening to my large world files and by the sound of it the issue is only happening to worlds people have put extended time into, which would likely mean a file size increase. My world was over 850 MB. What are your world sizes?
It still shows up in my menu and also I chose the "keep my data" option. It just won't let me load the world. Quite odd. It is still present in the menu and seems intact.
Edit: I receive the response shown in the last screenshot shown here.
I had something like that happen. It caused an old backup save of my world that was not working to sync. I have been waiting for another update to come out and maybe allow me to fix the main save.
That is what has been happening to me. One console, but it tells me it is either not synced properly or is corrupt. I have been waiting for it to decide to work for a month but no dice. I have a world that is about 860ish MB. However, it displays the world as being 2.7 GB. It arose after I did a factory reset on my console to fix an Xbox error. It still shows up, but it cannot sync and cannot load.
Yeah, I get that issue myself. I have been waiting for a fix for a month. I'm not sure when it will be fixed. Hopefully they get at least part of the issue resolved by 1.7's release.
Yeah, I've been waiting to play for over a month, but still no word on the status of fixing this issue and related ones. Hopefully it all gets fixed in 1.7.
These world-save issues are beginning to pile up. If these don't get fixed soon, it could become a bit of a disaster. Lots of worlds have likely been lost in the time that these issues have been unfixed.
How do I initiate the sync? I tried loading my world the day 1.7 came out but it still gave me the response "Your world either did not sync fully or is corrupted." It is just the one world that does it.
Sorry for constantly spamming this thread. I tried to load my big world (after syncing all my other worlds) and still no dice. I then waited a bit and tried and again and it still failed. I feel it is more related to the bug MCPE-35364, notably the original version that was fixed in August with 1.6.1. It behaves in much the same way but without the crashing aspect. The error displayed is the same and it also makes the thumbnail a black and white default.
Edit: It actually is shown in the last screenshot of MCPE-35364.
I don't have too much issue with your examples, but I have heard creepers go off with a sound intensity equal to if it were 5 blocks away when a player accidentally sets one off about 45 blocks away. That is annoying.
To be fair, this generally is a benign bug. I have experimented with them, and generally it seems they only crash if overloaded (too much sand/gravel). I personally don't see it as much of a priority to fix or too much a problem.
Can confirm this exists. It happens mostly with hostile mobs. There is a small chance that when you kill the mob on a laggy world with lots of mobs nearby, its model will freeze in place while an invincible, invisible version of it continues to chase the player. It tends to go away if you leave the area or it eventually registers the mob's death. It is a bit hard to reproduce consistently.
Can confirm that 1.16.100 is generally very laggy. Chunks struggle to render at an acceptable pace (especially when flying), minecarts struggle, and block lag and general performance suffer. I play on Xbox.
I struggle with this too. I have an old world of 4.5 years that will not import. It hits 80% and then crashes my game or sometimes my entire console.
Yeah, mine crashes when attempting to convert too. 4 1/2 years of work that I would love to bring over. Hits anywhere between 70 and 90 percent and then crashes my game and sometimes my entire console.
Same here. They said they fixed that disconnect of file data, but it seems to be back.
Weeks of waiting and still no work seems to have been done to resolve the problem. And now changes to the Legacy version file are not being synced over to the new version. Starting to lose faith and patience. 4 years of work cannot be simply, "remade."
I am experiencing this too. Why? I do not know. Hopefully it gets fixed soon. It is annoying. Especially in conjunction with the unfixed import bugs.
I will try later today to see. Wish me luck.
I can confirm this. Hit my five year old world. Hopefully it gets fixed. It mostly seems to happen to larger world files.
Do you guys think the worlds are corrupted or too large to sync properly due to a mistake with the Aquatic Update Pt. II?
This is a duplicate.
MCPE-35364covers the issue. I have this issue too. Best of luck.We noticed this in my server too. They seem to disappear when the game crashes or reloading some chunks.
Would you wager that a bug fix would fix already affected worlds or does file fixing need to take place?

Would you be able to give a bit more information? That way we could help you better.
I noticed this too. It wasn't super bothering. Just a tish odd.
Same here. I assume it is used as a placeholder because it cannot retrieve the correct seed.
Anybody hear any news regarding this issue?
Oh my god! Thank you! I am forever grateful! Excitement abounds!
Sorry. I'm normally not this excitable but the prospect of my world being fixed makes me utterly ecstatic.

Does that sound correct?

I'm back. New related issue cropped up.
My Backup just randomly decided to work. Trying to repeat on standard.
Standard file failed. No idea what helped the backup. It is too outdated to be worth the time. It seemed to resync my data for it somehow.
Any new news on fix progress?
Interesting. This is not the only problem with storage and the like. I hope this gets resolved.
This may be related to
MCPE-35364. Hang in there! It may yet come back!Yeah, mine shows up but tells me it cannot sync fully whenever I try to load it. It occurred after I had to do a factory reset on my console.
It still shows up in my menu and also I chose the "keep my data" option. It just won't let me load the world. Quite odd. It is still present in the menu and seems intact.
Edit: I receive the response shown in the last screenshot shown here.
Possibly related to
MCPE-35364. May be another expression on switch. That is to be taken up with Microsoft.
Yeah, this definitely happens. It is kinda weird.
Tried to load on another Xbox. Still failed. I guess we just have to wait.
Any new news?
Ugh. This is taking a long time. Mega_Spud, is there any new news on the progress? I cannot find anymore info on it sadly.
I had something like that happen. It caused an old backup save of my world that was not working to sync. I have been waiting for another update to come out and maybe allow me to fix the main save.
Just vote on the existing issue report. Otherwise you slow down the process of fixing bugs by making people use time weeding through reports.
I hope they get a bug fix out before 1.7. We need one.
Oi. Everyone, an update came out today. See if a world of yours syncs. I will try once I get home.
Neither was the last, but that still caused a world of mine to sync. If you wan explanations, I have none.
Still no dice for me, but I think I am suffering from a different bug.
Still happening. The problem seems pretty isolated as far as worlds go. Still can't find what triggers the issue.

Hm. That is not good. Did any files make it through?
I haven't tried in a few days. Would you recommend I do?
I tried anyways. Still no change.
Yeah, I've been waiting to play for over a month, but still no word on the status of fixing this issue and related ones. Hopefully it all gets fixed in 1.7.
Any new information?
This issue has been noted as
MCPE-37784. I am suffering from this as well. Tell me if it accurately describes your issue. How would we go about that?
Thank you Spud! That is great to hear.
I noticed that the 1.8 beta was released recently. I am thinking that 1.7 will be released soon.
1.7 was released. Still not working. I tried two times, but it gave me the same message as before.
Hm. Interesting. I hope this and the other world_save bugs get fixed soon. I'll keep an eye on it.
These world-save issues are beginning to pile up. If these don't get fixed soon, it could become a bit of a disaster. Lots of worlds have likely been lost in the time that these issues have been unfixed.
Have any of you had any luck as of late?
Hey, it would probably be a good idea to remove the 1.7.0.9 fix version label as it remains unfixed.
How do I initiate the sync? I tried loading my world the day 1.7 came out but it still gave me the response "Your world either did not sync fully or is corrupted." It is just the one world that does it.

So I just load up minecraft and wait a while for it to retrieve info automatically?
I don't have too much issue with your examples, but I have heard creepers go off with a sound intensity equal to if it were 5 blocks away when a player accidentally sets one off about 45 blocks away. That is annoying.
I am affected as well. I can't download my realm either.
I am pretty sure this is intentional.
Can now confirm that it occurs when mounting horses as well.
To be fair, this generally is a benign bug. I have experimented with them, and generally it seems they only crash if overloaded (too much sand/gravel). I personally don't see it as much of a priority to fix or too much a problem.
This happens to me as well. My world is from console but it occurs on all versions.
Issue fixed for me.

I have been experiencing a form of this as well.
