Could you please add more details to the description with your errors? I don't think this is a bug, but we need more information to know for sure.
I'm not really a computer person, my son can't download the new changes of
last week. Doesn't trust the content?

Firewall overpowered. Try disabling it until your minecraft is updated. If not, using a pirate copy?
Did disable firewall and went to login page. AFter login typed hit options and then a prompt to FORCE upgrade, after I click that WILL FORCE pops up. Twice during this it used the doesn't trust security certificate or certificate not updated. Try to proceed to trust it anyway (with firewall off) won't load. Now I know it's not hard went off without a hitch on the laptop

It almost sounds like you are trying to download the .jar file from the site through a web browser which can be done, but requires more technical expertise.
Try launching the program and allowing it to update or click force update. Further support please refer to the link above.
