I was able to replicate this only once, but not consistently. If you drink a potion during F5 mode, the player model remained visible although on subsequent attempts that I tried, I was rendering as invisible.
Please make your summary clearer, like: "Invisible potions don't have actual effects".
Actually it's probably intended because the game cannot make yourself invisible when in third person perspective! That would be extremely hard to play. The invisible potions work for other players: they see you as transparent (if you're on the same team), or invisible (if not), and the mobs.
befor Minecraft java 1.13 pre-6 it was also in f5 mode
pre6 or pre7? you marked pre7 but say pre6

Cannot reproduce. Please provide a small video with the debug screen enabled (hit the F3 key) demonstrating the issue.
