So this appears to be a valid issue. It could be related to the entities riding other entities not showing effects bug.
Fixed for me (tested in 1.4.5pre)
If this was marked as a duplicate, why was it changed to fixed? Now the bug fix is counted twice.
Because they later realized it wasn't a duplicate after all, so it was reopened. And then now it's fixed. Noticed they changed it to being related to
MC-1473, no longer as a duplicate of. AndMC-2570is the duplicate of this issue.
