MC-176618Lodestone is made out of netherite, but isn't intended to be a fireproof item, therefore when throwing it into lava or fire will cause the netherite ingot to diminish as well
The bug
Normally you are not able to destroy netherite when thrown into lava/fire, however this can be bypassed by crafting a lodestone block.
To Reproduce
- Throw a netherite ingot into the lava

The netherite ingot isn’t destroyed - Use that same netherite ingot to craft a lodestone and throw the lodestone into lava
→
The netherite ingot used to craft the lodestone is also destroyed alongside it

Edit: This report has been marked as Working as Intended. Lodestone not being fireproof is intended, but it shouldn't be intended for the netherite ingot to be destroyed as well (by fire). However, this is Mojang's call so I shall respect their decisions. I have renamed this report to be more concise to my point.

Normally you aren’t able to destroy netherite when thrown into lava, however this mechanic can be bypassed by putting netherite into a container (then throwing the container into lava) or using netherite to craft something else other than netherite tools, such as lodestones or possibly more items in future snapshots.
To Reproduce:
1. Throw a netherite ingot into the lava
2. The netherite ingot isn’t destroyed
3. Put the netherite ingot into a shulker box (or summon in other containers with an NBT)
4. All of the contents of the container is destroyed by lava, including netherite, when thrown into it
5. Use another netherite ingot to craft a lodestone and throw the lodestone into lava
6. The netherite ingot used to craft the lodestone is also destroyed alongside it
I have made 2 seperate bug reports as this one has been marked as Invalid. Those reports are MC-176615 and MC-176618
iron, chainmail and gold armor can be smelted in the furnace or blast furnace to turn into their nugget, even with netherite trim on, although netherite cannot burn. related to MC-176618
step to reproduce:
step 1: place the smithing table, then put armor trim, iron armor and netherite ingot into the smithing table, then shift and left-click on the output
step 2: place the furnace, then put that armor in the furnace and then put the fuel
expect: nothing happens
reality: the iron armor started to smelt
