Does anyone know how to reproduce this? I also experienced this (you can see the screenshot). But I don’t know how to reproduce.
This bug is fixed in 20w18a, see
MC-176032@Greymagic27 it seems like it is not fully fixed I also experienced this issue and it was in 20w18a.

This issue is not resolved as of 1.16 Prerelease 1. Don't how how to replicate it, try flying around the Nether for some time, but I found multiple striders spawn like this.
Also, floating striders can't ever change their Y position from stepping up blocks. Levitation can change their Y position, but it doesn't fix the problem.
