Tinted glass doesn't block light
I was trying to make an interrogation room, where one room was real bright, and one room was pitch black. This should have been made possible, thanks to Tinted Glass. However, you can see inside the dark room, from both inside the dark room and the light room itself. This makes no sense, as there is physically no light in there (there are no holes in the glass or my piston door, nor is there any light source in the room.) For convenience, I have place a wither skeleton in the dark room in broken.jpg

I think this is working as intended. It only blocks the view from the outside and not the inside, just like IRL tinted glass.
Tinted Glass just stops light from coming through it doesn't prevent you from seeing it
Depending on if resource packs would be an option, and how well you'd want to see from the dark room into the bright/interrogation room, hypothetically you could make the tinted glass block pitchblack, and then play with its opacity.
Obviously, at 100%, it appears opaque, you can't see a thing, but if you lower it to e.g. 80%, you can see at least a little bit from the dark into the bright room, however, as long as the bright room is really bright, you can't see that well into the dark room.
I don't know if that would suffice for you, of course something like night vision effect would override it
