I have recently found that I cannot sprint when going up stair blocks, but I can sprint going down. I don't know if this is a feature or a bug, but I felt it was best to report it just in case.

Did you run out of hunger while going up the stairs?

I can confirm with the steps provided in the description. MC-199874.mp4
Relates to MC-2987. If you walk slowly you will see that you first step upwards to the chain and then up to the iron bars so yeah, you should not stop sprinting here.
