MC-2989Block "resets" when right clicked with a food item.
So i was playing a new survival and picked up an apple off the bat, i decided to walk up to a tree and get some logs with the apple in hand. I started to hit the tree i was half way done when i accidentally hit right, which reset the damage on the tree. Confirmed. Might be related to MC-2989 as right-clicking with food there behaves like toolchanging causing block damage reset.

Just to clarify, are you saying that while breaking a block with left-click, if you right click the block damage resets?

MC-2519Yes that is what i mean, i suck at describing things. this is sort of related to that bug yes, but i don't switch tools while i am holding left click. I simple hold left click then right click with a food item and it resets the block damage.
Interrupting the breaking process, is working as designed. Right-clicking, switching tools, and other actions will cause this.
Thank you for bringing it to our attention though.
