MC-32301Lava fizz sound plays whenever a flowing lava block destroys an air block
The fizz sound normally only plays when lava destroys items or grass, flowers, redstone stuff, snow layers, etc. or when lava hits water. Since the introduction of actual "air blocks" in 13w38b, you can hear the fizz sound whenever a flowing lava block destroys an air block, which makes spreading lava sound pretty weird.
