Zombie Pigmen are too Slow
Zombie pigmen have become slower than they are in 1.7.9. Also, if you let them chase you for about 30-40 seconds, they slow down to zombie speed. I did comparisons from the current version,1.7.9, to the latest snapshot.

Zombie pigmen too slow
I've noticed when testing the new pigmen AI, that when you hit a zombie pigman, all of them swarm you, but if you run and let them chase you for about 30 seconds or so, they slow down to zombie speed. Stranger, if you go into creative while they're chasing you, they will still chase you. If you go into creative while they're still going fast, they will chase you at zombie speed. I can't express this in screenshots, obviously, and it has nothing to do with world seed. To reproduce:
1.) Spawn a bunch of pigmen in creative mode(Amount doesn't matter, even one will do)
2.) Go into survival, and hit one
3.) Let them chase you for about 20-30 seconds, and notice them slow down
NOTE: It appears the pigmen you hit will not continue chasing you in creative mode, the ones aggroed by the one you hit will.Environment

MC-52824is claming the opposite. Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft snapshow 14w11b or later? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
I already had it updated to 14w11b, and I'll clear things up here. It appears that zombie pigmen (along with other mobs that used to have the old AI system like spiders and endermen) appear to ONCE IN AWHILE have a massive speed boost for some reason. Endermen have this speed boost until you hit them once. But this issue states that the zombie pigmens' NORMAL speed has been decreased, and after awhile of chasing you they slow even more to zombie speed. Compare the speeds from the current version 1.7.8 to 14w11b (before they slow to zombie speed) , their default speed is slower, and the fact they slow to zombie speed is definately a bug.
Can someone please test this for me to confirm it? This bug is pretty annoying... I haven't found any YouTube videos showing it...
I tested 14w34c vs 1.7.9. survival hard and normal difficulty.
In 1.7.9 the zombie pigman follows the player with almost the same running speed. I was moving backwards.
In 14w34c the zombie pigman running speed is a bit slower compared to 1.7.9. After less then one minute, his speed is decreased (fast walking) but he still follows the player. If the player hits him again, he starts running again.
I agree. Still in the pre-release.
The actual behavior is too complicated to be a bug.
One could argument that the speed was decreased by mistake but a timer which changes the behavior seems to be a new feature or a fix of a previously not working one.
Well, considering that zombie pigmen share code with zombies, and in 1.8 they were givin almost identical AI (allowing them to track from 40 blocks), it may be a code issue. Probably not intended.
Confirmed for 1.8.1-pre2.
The wiki states that Zombie Pigmen forgive after 20-39.95 seconds, losing the speed boost (while unable to find an "official" source, it has been there for 5 months).
Checking this AI change/bug report with a Mojang member would be helpful and appreciated.
