MC-77405All inventory is deleted with no warning if "shift" held and "Destroy Item" "X" is clicked

What I expected to happen was...: that I would NOT lose every item in my inventory for ever.
What actually happened was...:
I inadvertently clicked the "Destroy Item" "X" whilst I had the shift key pressed. This can be a shortcut to moving items from one place to another. The whole of my inventory *** POW! *** went, NO " Are you sure" No Command "Z" 'undo last silly move', no ooops, No undo, NO nothing.
Steps to Reproduce:
1... Open Inventory
2. ...Hold shift key down
3. ...Click 'Destroy Item" "X"
4 ... Swear profusely.
5.. Write a BUG report
6... Hope for a quick fix which might be a solution to other Inventory losses for other players.
Environment
Running on Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 I am in the UK Java v 1.6.0_65 I am in 'Creative' mode 'Peaceful'

I am very sorry to tell you that it is gone forever, but you can get it back since you are in creative, right?
This is intended. Shift + clicking the x clears the inventory. It's even documented on the Minecraft Wiki.
Are you MAD ? I have a world to build!! I can't spend time refilling my inventory!
It might be hidden in the Wiki but even the basic word processor has an undo or even an "Are you sure ?"
Please add that to the WISH LIST as my vote is for an undo or "Are you sure".
If I was in survival would the inventory be cleared also? Now that would make me really MAD
It sounds to me as if a programer has turned a bug into a feature, if it was supposed to be there then the "Destroy Item" should be changed to "Destroy Items" with an

The destroy item box is only available in creative mode, and this has been a feature for years. If you want to make a feature suggestion or change please do this on Minecraft Suggestions on Reddit.
That feature is well known and extremely useful when building in creative and having the inventory full of unusable stuff.
