NO - Java is not out of date - pacman -Syyu returns 'there is nothing to do'
According to the crash report:
This is either an issue with LWJGL, or your graphics drivers. If possible, install the proprietary drivers for your graphics card. Also note, when indicated that your java version is out of date, this is because you have java 7, whereas the current version is java 8.
I was able to get the Android AVD up and running, so I don't think it's a problem with my graphics card (Android AVD uses Java). I even got KWin to work with OpenGL window effects. Even so, I looked at the Arch Linux wiki, and found that Intel offers open source drivers (made by Intel). I also installed OpenJDK 8, and didn't get much further. Ruling those out, it's probably LWJGL, what can I do to fix the issue?
You could inquire about it, or post it (your crash) on the LWJGL forums.
Victor Tran, support for Java 7 has ended and Arch Linux doesn't automatically update to newer major Java versions.
If you'd like to use Java 8, you'll need to install the package manually.
