Incorrect death messages in non-english languages
In any language besides English:
Upon death, the death messages aren't displayed properly.
If killed by a mob, the message reads:
was slain/shot/blown up by <username>
Instead of:
<username> was slain/shot/blown up by <mob name>
If killed by other means, the message simply states the cause of death, with the username omitted. E.g.
drowned
To reproduce:
Die. In any way, shape or form.

I believe this to not be a duplicate of MC-9115 but instead a separate issue entirely. In this video my language is set to default English: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZ8cpQ4R7xA this is clearly a different issue than MC-9115 and it still occurs in 1.6.2

Cannot confirm.
Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while ingame and attach the crash report here.
Crash report (as per mod request)
It looks like your name is just being cut off on the left. Are you in fullscreen mode? If so, can you try it in windowed mode?
Tried in windowed mode, the issue is still there. And it still says that I was slain by myself.
Can confirm, if the language of the game is not set to English (US)
Seems other languages don't have the changed (since the fix of
MC-8647) death messages yet.Should be fixed automatically in one of the next snapshots (Release ?) when the translations are pulled from crowdin.net.
Can confirm with Pirate Speak.
Confirmed for English(UK) as well.
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
Fixed.
