Me and my friend got this game to play together and we did on the first day that we got it. After the recent update I am unable to join him. I am not getting his invites and he is not getting mine. We tried to get another friend in and we still couldn't join

Did you check you are both on the latest version of the game?
Check for updates on the Microsoft store for the Windows 10 version.
Open the Microsoft store from the start menu > triple dots in the top right corner > downloads and updates > Get updates
