Please do not mark unreleased versions as affected. You do not have access to this yet.
I have no idea what could be causing this or how we could possibly fix it. This seems like a bug in java.
@Grum Can you add support/a profil for Multi-GPU in Mineraft, without the need to adjust it in the Nvidia 3D-Settings? Maybe that works? :/ Even Minecraft runs without this setting in the 3D-Settings only on one GPU with the GTX690.
Is this still a concern in the current launcher version?
Yes, the Problem is still existing in Dev. 0.7. But i found a acceptable solution. The Launcher runs on javaw.exe and the Game on java.exe. I just enable Multi-GPU only for java.exe. I think that's enough so
But perhaps it would be much better to create a Multi-GPU Profile for Minecraft. In the future. Should I create a new issue for this?
Feel free to provide documentation on how to create such profile and how to automagically install it properly
I'm not the developer. I am only the user who proposes something. Whether it will be implemented or can is still your thing. But I think that dual-CPU would then probably more important....
We have no idea on where to even remotely start with this, we have no systems to test this with. So if you can provide any documentation on how to create such profile (you are the one who can test it!) feel free to do so.
And it seems that both nvidia and amd keep their own profiles:
However after a quick look I found: http://www.geeks3d.com/20100528/manage-your-sli-profiles-with-nvidia-geforce-sli-profile-tool/
Maybe you can play around with it see if you can extract the data for a profile and then maybe we can use that tool to add it as well?
Do you not have 2 identical graphics cards in your office? :S A GTX690 is not needed for this. Only 2 identical Graphics Cards...
Okay, i made a little SLI Profil here: http://www.revoplay.de/Minecraft.nip
A little Profil for "java.exe" only Multi-GPU. (Without Antialiasing or so) Works only because of "java.exe" with Minecraft 1.6.
The only Question now is: Where to put it? How can the Nvidia Driver detect this file to enable automatically Multi-GPU in Minecraft?
The goal is that it works automatically. And the user must do nothing. I searched now for one hour and found this: http://lwjgl.org/forum/index.php/topic,1257.0.html
)
(But from 2005
But we should not invest too much time for this. I have found a good solution for me and there are certainly more important things at the moment.
It seems to me that the way the whole SLI stuff is handled by the vendors is rather stupid, why not make an OpenGL extension you can prod into so you can request the SLI-status of the system and setup parameters for it.
I agree it would be nice to have a better way than prodding around in these profiles yourself but it seems like the only way to do it
Another way would be this, that the responsible person in Mojang write to Nvidia and AMD so that both add an SLI profile in their drivers. So many questions would no longer be necessary in the forums about it.
Look here under "NVIDIA SLI Technology": http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/59641
In every Driver Nvidia add new Profil's. It is a mystery to me why there is no profile for Minecraft. It's not like that Minecraft is not famous enough ...

Can anyone, after Grum read my Comment, close this issue? Thanks
Or can I even?
I am having this issue in game. The game flickers from time to time and the item GUI in creative mode constantly resets. This is an issue when you try to scroll down the selection and are forced back to the top. The snapshots are entirely unuseable until this is fixed.
Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft / Launcher version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
The error is currently away for me. I will write again here, if he should be present again
Ok, thanks.
