After downloading and login, the launcher closes
After login at the new launcher and updating / downloading the new snapshot, the launcher closes. And restart and login doesn't help...
Maybe I took the server file into the false folder.
Where does that has to be?

same problem here
I've got the same issue. Downloads fine, but logging in just closes the launcher and nothing comes up. Running 32bit Windows XP, Java is version "6 update 33".

OK, updated Java to the latest version, same problem.
I've got the same problem. The launcher downloads the file but when it tries to start the game, it closes automatically. I restarted it but after I click on 'Play', it closes. I am on Windows 8.
Even worse here :
OS: GNU/Linux Debian 6 amd64
Desktop: Gnome 2.3
After I push "Play" there is a Minecraft window for a short moment and then i get thrown back to the login screen of Gnome
nothing usable in the log...
