Launcher closes after downloading files / hitting play button
Upon hitting the play button in the new Minecraft Launcher, introduce in snapshot 13w16a, It will download all things needed. Suddenly it will just close not even playing the game.

Confirmed with XP 32 Bit and Java 7.
Confirmed with Vista 32 bits, java 7 (and classic windows looking)
Every time I try to launch the game with the new launcher it crashes.
Confirmed on Windows 8 64 bit. After hitting play app instantly closes.
Confirmed with Windows 7 32x, Java 7 (and whatever the latest update is) and it just crashes (or closes itself) every time I click the play button.
I've ruled out magiclauncher as interfering.
Also, I didn't see any green progress bar, or maybe it went by fast.

I'm having the same issue where the launcher closes after I click "Play". Here is a screenshot of the error.
I can launch it now, but I'm also seeing the error that was posted.
Relaunching the game should fix it.

This was caused by accidentally reserving 2gb of ram, which is just a bit too much for old 32bit java. We'll give more control on how much ram to allocate later, right now it has been reset to 1gb.
I have Vista, java 7, every time I try to launch the game with the new launcher it crashes, you can still hear the minecraft music but nothing else

I am having the same prob...i bought minecraft in late Feb and it works fine, but i recently purchased a second for my boys and it crashes whenever i try to hit the play button...contacted CS and nothing...i don't want a refund, i just want to b able 2 play and boys play as well...any suggestions would b helpful. btw 2 laptops /2 accounts purchased from minecraft.net and dl'ed on pc
