MCL-5299Launcher updated to 2.0.x and downgraded to 1.6.76 again
The new minecraft launcher won't work. It updated the launcher today, and when i tryed to get on it again, it went back to the old launcher
What I expected to happen was...:
...it would launch my game in the new launcher

ME AND MY SISTER BOTH HAVE 64 BIT JAVA

MAYBE I SHOULD GET A DIFFERENT VERSION

There was an sort of an error message. It said "Your switching from a new launcher to an old launcher"
then it gave me an option to either "Restore my setting to get the new launcher back" or "Keep using old launcher"
i clicked on the first option and it made me log in again
so i logged in again and it was still the old launcher
i reopened my minecraft and everything, but it is still the old launcher
PLEASE FIX

I did not mean for future versions, i ment for the new version of the launcher where u can change skins and stuff.

No i can't. I have tried everything. I re-downloaded minecraft, i deleted all the files, and today (when i try to launch it)

please tell me where i am supposed to put the launcher.json file so that the new launcher will work, or if that launcher.json file is even the right one to make the launcher update
now i can't even play mineacraft because the launcher will not open
when i went to C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft, i started it up with the minecraft launcher (not the shortcut) and it launched...how ever, it still didn't update
is there anyway to force a launcher to update?
if there isn't, please add it so people like me with the problem can easily update their launcher.

No, if you have a 64 bit OS you should have 64 bit Java.
Maybe you should just try again the next days until it has been rolled out for everyone.
And please don't write everything in caps.
