Windows: "Minecraft launcher has stopped working" on launcher startup
Fresh install of minecraft.
New launcher running 1.11.2 0 latest version.
No mods
Upon clicking the PLAY button, I get a "Minecraft has stopped working" dialog window 9 our of 10 times. The Error is listed as " 
Internal error" I am unable to click on the button for further assistance given that there is a dialog box open telling me that minecraft launcher has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. - CLOSE PROGRAM.
It crashes on the news and skin pages, however, if I change to the settings page, the game starts without issue.

The launcher will crash about 50% of the time when starting it while viewing the settings page. 100% of the time while viewing the news or skins pages.

The hotfix does not apply since I am using driver 21.21.13.7653. I do not have 3dvision drivers installed. The affected driver has never been installed on this system.
Well, that was worth a try.
Can confirm having the same issue using an Intel GPU. Just installed the new Windows launcher, had to revert back to the old one because it 'stops working' every time I try to run the game. The native log just ends with 'Running launcher!', no mention of trying to run the game.
