The bug
The log window does not update on its own when it has too much to log. Instead it only updates when you click somewhere in the window. Additionally the dropdown for how many lines should be shown does not load properly.
How to reproduce
Place a repeating command block with a /say command in a world and activate it.

White Game Ouput can be reproduce when the %appdata%\.minecraft\assets\objects folder is deleted. Nearly right after all files have been downloaded and Minecraft starts the window turns white.
