Today, we're celebrating the momentous fifth anniversary of the release of TU69 for Minecraft Console Edition! Let's infuse this milestone with an abundance of enthusiasm! 🎉🥳 This update, known as the aquatic update for Minecraft Consoles, introduced a plethora of fantastic features that continue to captivate players.
Within this update, tridents shine with a reliably working loyalty enchantment. This is in stark contrast to the Bedrock Edition, where tridents occasionally exhibit erratic behavior when colliding with mobs. Additionally, we welcome the Phantom, a flying creature with a mob cap of 5 per world and a modest health pool of only 10, distinct from both Java and Bedrock.
But the star of the aquatic show is undoubtedly the Drowned, a mesmerizing underwater mob. Drowneds display unique characteristics, including a swimming animation akin to players. Moreover, they possess the ability to drop tridents upon their demise, even if they weren't previously wielding one. This is especially noteworthy, as acquiring tridents in the Java Edition is a well-known challenge. When encountered as baby mobs, they exhibit swift movement, akin to their counterparts in Java Edition, and possess the uncanny ability to summon zombie reinforcements, a feature absent in the Bedrock Edition. During Halloween festivities, they can even appear adorned with pumpkins, adding a delightful touch to the game. What's more, Drowneds raise their arms in a hostile manner, akin to their behavior in Java Edition, but different from Bedrock Edition.
A noteworthy aspect of this update is that Drowneds can now spawn in swamp biomes, breathing life into these previously serene environments. Furthermore, the update introduces an emerald trading icon for villagers, signaling to other players that the villager is unavailable for trading at that moment. This particular feature was borrowed from Bedrock Edition but regrettably removed from it in version 1.18.10, which is a decision that may leave some players disheartened.
This update also brings an updated sound for dropping items, sourced from Bedrock Edition, infusing the game with enhanced realism. Buckets are more versatile, enabling players to collect fish even when the bucket is empty. The process of sleeping in a bed has been refined, and the sounds for zombie villagers and wither skeletons have been harmonized with the 1.11 update on Java Edition.
Naturally, this aquatic adventure introduces a multitude of new ocean biomes, along with the playful company of dolphins and the venerable turtles. The turtle spawn egg is particularly noteworthy, as it grants players the ability to spawn baby turtles more readily, a unique feature specific to Console Edition and Java Edition. This feature simplifies the process of demonstrating how turtles drop scutes as they mature. Additionally, this update introduces new aquatic life forms, including Cod, Salmon, pufferfish, and tropical fish. Among these, the Salmons can be found in three distinct sizes, a detail that resonates with fans, particularly those who appreciate the content created by Ibxtoycat.
The potion of decay is a new addition in this update, making Legacy Console Edition the exclusive home for both the potion of luck and the potion of decay. To further enhance creativity, monster spawners find their place in the creative inventory, and pick block functionality now applies to them.
The cherished tradition of the tutorial world receives an update as well, ensuring that players receive comprehensive guidance on utilizing new features such as tridents and conduits. Buried treasure becomes an exciting treasure hunt, with maps guiding adventurers to ocean ruins and shipwrecks. The new tutorial world cleverly conceals remnants of the old tutorial world underwater. Waterlogging is another notable addition, following the Bedrock Edition's approach, allowing a wider array of blocks to be waterlogged without compromising the integrity of flowing water. Lastly, logs can be stripped, offering players even more versatility in crafting.

Nonetheless, it's disheartening and unjust that players on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch are excluded from this exhilarating update, leaving them with the unsettling feeling of being overlooked, a sentiment that can be deeply frustrating. Despite having committed no wrongdoing, they are denied access to the unique features of TU69. Furthermore, the aquatic update they received on Bedrock Edition lacks most of the enriching features described above.
Nevertheless, let us not forget to commemorate this extraordinary fifth anniversary of an update that continues to infuse the Minecraft community with immense joy and excitement! 🥳🎉 The exclusion of these players from the update can sometimes be seen as a form of cyberbullying, a behavior that we, as a community, should unequivocally reject.
