iOS lag spikes occur in all single and multiplayer modes (realms, private, public servers)
Major lag spikes happen with ~15-30 second intervals on iOS when connected to realm. The same bug does not occur on Xbox. No similar lag spikes on local world or public server (eg cubecraft). This bug makes it more or less impossible to play on realms at the moment and it has been affecting me since update 1.20.31
For the other players connected to the realm, whatever action I preform while the lag spikes takes place continues, it is purely on my end that it seems to lag. The screen freezes however the action continues, and it’s very disorienting when sprinting and suddenly everything stops for 1-2 seconds, only for my player to appear somewhere complete different to where I was when the lag spike initiated. As if a few frames were somehow lost on my end. And no, this is not because of my resource packs.
EDIT: Affects private worlds and public servers as well. Tried to uninstall the game and all resource packs but no difference. Audio also lags out a few seconds before or after lag spike.

I'm playing Minecraft on iOS 17.4.1 on an iPhone 13, but whenever I switch to third-person perspective, there's always a slight lag. This puts me at a disadvantage in PvP and other situations, so I'd appreciate it if you could address this.
Furthermore, this issue is unrelated to the following issue. MCPE-176569 In a previous bug report, it was stated, "This issue is being tracked MCPE-176569 so it is a duplicate."
This is a video https://bugs.mojang.com/secure/attachment/570256/733668937.630307.mov
Why do you believe your issue is different from MCPE-176569?
From the video, the brief freezes are not occurring specifically when switching perspective. In addition, MCPE-176569 is not limited to realms/servers. The summary states that is occurs in singleplayer mode as well, so this report is being resolved as a duplicate.

Can confirm. Seriously annoying bug.
Appears to be triggered by changing perspective
I reproduced this also on singleplayer worlds, pretty much the same occurence as Android issue. Updating title.
Still an issue on the latest version.
After some testing I found that emptying space in my iPad’s internal storage helped Minecraft lag less. With roughly 50% of it empty I only get small irritating lag spikes that disappear instantly and only occur every minute or so instead of the entire screen freezing for a second every 15 - 20 seconds.
I seen that on M2 these lag spikes and a lower framersate became more intense when generating new chunks, also under the suggested render distance.
Could be the marketplace the cause? Anyway M2 doesn't get hot like other games, looks like the performance are capped
Yeah this is happening to me in 2024 in a private world
Can confirm. This started to happened to me recently on new Preview 1.21.70.20 on my iPad 9th generation. I didn’t test yet if I has the same issue on my iPhone 16. But this only happens to me on recent Minecraft Preview, full release seems not affected for me.
Check if I have the same issue on my iPhone 16 right now and my response. Yes iPhone 16 with 256 gb have the same issue sadly, but freezing last only 1 to 2 minutes and not so frequent. So its not older devices issue only.
At first I thought it’s because my iPad only has 64gb of storage and Minecraft didn’t get enough of storage but I suppose is because something else now that causes this lag spikes.
