Profile image and Skin preview on profile screen does not support Custom skin and Imported skinpacks
In the latest Beta/Preview, player can now see their or other player skins in profile screen, but this only work with character creator and marketplace skinpacks, if the player is using custom skin or imported skinpacks, the current equipped skins won't show up in the profile screen and instead the last character/marketplace skinpacks will show up.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open Minecraft Preview > Profile screen > Dressing Room
- Change your skin to character creator or marketplace skinpacks
- Go back to Profile screen and wait 5 - 10 seconds, the preview will change to that character/skins
- Now change your skin to custom skin or imported skinpacks
- Go back to Profile screen and wait 5 - 10 seconds, nothing happens
Expected results:
Current custom skin or imported skinpacks will be displayed in the skin preview.
Observed results:
Previous character creator/marketplace skinpacks will be displayed instead.

I can also reproduce this as well. My profile picture seems to be stuck on the face of one of the default character creator skins.
It seems like they changed the profile source logic so that it no longer shows the Gamerpic of the associated Xbox account, but rather the face texture of your skin. The problem with this is that like mentioned at MCPE-184075 and most notably MCPE-189297, this new profile picture logic does not even support custom skins in the first place.
My custom skin will load and display in the character preview, but is not viewable by other players on any platform when connected to realms.
Jonathan A. Watts this is a different issues, the one that you experienced is MCPE-78206.
also it's seems like they disabled this features, as the profile image in profile screen, start screen, play screen (friends tab), and pause screen now uses your xbox avatar again, so for now i can not reproduce both this and
MCPE-189299.Same here, its gone for me as well.
