Items float upwards in down-flowing water
When items are put in falling water, they float up as if it's normal stationary water. This doesn't make much sense, and also breaks my current crop farm's mechanics. I used this design: https://youtu.be/FuLBnF8V-Sk
The crops are supposed to be transported through many down-flows of water, but with the current water physics the crops just pile up on each level and don't move anywhere.
To replicate, put a water source in mid-air or somewhere high to make the water flow downwards. Then throw some items into the water and watch as the items float against gravity and the current.
I get that Minecraft is just a game and it doesn't need to follow physics, but this issue in BE doesn't occur in Java. Items in the Java still move downwards with the water current in the latest snapshots. The items only float if the water is stationary.

I wanted to point out that by making the change you did because of the MCPE-33628 post, it broke all automatic kelp farms that take little processing power to have. The person in the other post could have simply used magma blocks to pull down items were needed. Where as you cant use soul sand in a automatic kelp farm because you cant plant kelp on it, only gravel. Yes, their is a style of kelp farm that can be built without using falling water, but it requires a ton of red stone and Dispensers to make it work which would degrade server performance when trying to make something equivalent to the now broken kelp farms. I'm not sure if making this change was intentional to brake the automatic kelp farms, or if it was a unforeseen consequence of the change. But it would be nice if the change was reversed or something else done to fix kelp farms so that they can be like they were without having to use red stone.
Also here is a link to a single wide example of what I am talking about that was working before the change. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emBSZ_C5Dvw
Probably due to the fix for MCPE-33628

Isn't this intended? I think this is because of the new water mechanics, when items are in water they will always float up.
Keep in mind that minecraft is still a game, doesn't matter if it breaks the laws of physics
Seems to be partially fixed in 1.6.0.1....along with a lot of 1 block wide water columns that can no longer make items float. The items just get stuck at the bottom if the entire column is not made of source blocks. This poses a bigger problem when making tall water elevators for items. THANKS A LOT.
Couldn't you just use a soul sand bubble column to move items up? Or do those not work on non-source blocks?
I added a photo to show what issue has appeared.
Fixed in 1.6.0.5. This ticket is now WAI. The photo I added shows a water column that only has a water source at the bottom and top block of a pillar.
Note: the items are inside a water source block but they don't float up.
