Lilypads are pitch black from below regardless of light level
To reproduce:
/setblock ~ ~3 ~ waterlily
Perform in a well-lit area and look upward


Notice the green wool is still clearly green, but the lily pad is pitch black. (second screenshot taken from above)
Here is the first screenshot boosted to insane levels, showing that the lily pad is significantly darker.

I believe this works as intended. Notice how there are actually two layers, the one above has a normal color and the one below is really dark.
Yes. But java edition doesn't have a second layer.
