Player Dies When Waking Up If There Are Carpets Next to Bed
I have a bed in a room of height 2, with walls on one side and at the head of the bed, and carpets on all the rest of the tiles surrounding the bed.
If I go to sleep in this bed, when I wake up I seem to be inside a wall - I cannot move, I'm taking damage, I see only some brownish texture in front of my eyes and there is that string of disappearing bubbles above my hunger gauge suggesting I'm about to suffocate.
If I save & quit before expiring, the preview image (thumbnail?) for the game looks like the ceiling of the room is gone - the walls and the sky are visible. Maybe, because of the carpet's height, I wake up with my head inside the ceiling?
If, before going to sleep, I remove the carpet from any of the 2 unoccupied tiles at the side of the bed, I wake up normally, i.e. refreshed & healthy & generally not dying. Also, if only one of the tiles is carpet-free, I am always placed on that tile.
Removing any of the other carpets (e.g. from the foot or corners of the bed) makes no difference.
I am attaching 2 zip files - one with screenshots of the deadly setup, and one with screenshots of the same place, modified so that it doesn't have this flaw.
What I expected to happen was:
After going to sleep, I should have awoken standing next to the bed and able to go on with the game.
What actually happened was:
Instead, I woke up stuck, not able to see much, and taking damage until I died.
Steps to reproduce:
- Have a room of height 2 with a bed and with carpets in all the accessible tiles next to the bed (see the screenshots in the attachment "Deadly.zip").
- Go to sleep in said bed.
- Wake up & die.

Hi Robert,
As mentioned in the comment its invalid because it doesn't relate to Bedrock Dedicated Server and is instead a bug with the "Minecraft (Bedrock codebase)" game. This section doesn't relate to the Minecraft game itself. I'm not at all implying that the bug doesn't exist, apologies if it felt that way especially after the wait.
Apologies also on the time to respond, I have only recently started trying to help out in the Dedicated Server section and am slowly going through the backlog. Many of us are volunteers.
I've had a quick search of the MCPE bugtracker and I believe this (MCPE-62932 or MCPE-42881 - the latter looks more like a way of trolling rather than the bug you describe though) is a bug report similar to yours.
If you have more information to add please up-vote and comment on one of those issues.

The height of the player is actually too low for their head to get stuck in the ceiling upon exiting the bed (It is a common misconception that the player is 2 blocks tall; they are actually only 1.8). I believe this issue is due to Carpets not being counted as a spawnable area. This results in the server attempting to spawn you inside the walls.
Temporary solutions you could try include removing the carpets or making your room 3 blocks high. However, I agree that this should be fixed, as it would make a good quality- of-life change for 1.16.
@MantacidTech , thank you for the comment.
I tried another scenario, wherein I placed a bed in a room higher than 2 blocks, and surrounded it with carpets. After going to sleep, I woke up on top of the bed. This
I am attaching another zip file, with screenshots from the new scenario.
