Summary
When exiting from the menu using the ESC key, the Minecraft app crashes.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open your Minecraft Windows 10 Edition from your PC.
- Wait until Minecraft opens.
- Press Esc button.
- A panel shows up, then press OK.
- Game crashes - error entry in Event Viewer
What I expected to happen was...:
Game exits gracefully.
What actually happened was...:
The game crashes rather than exiting gracefully, causing a hang on a white screen for some setups.
Notes
- Doesn't appear to affect any in-world exit methods.
- Is not present in 1.16.0.60

What makes you think the game is crashing?
I just tried these steps myself and didn't notice anything unusual.
Game shouldn't be waiting 15-20 seconds to exiting, it should be waiting 1-3 seconds.
Also Event Viewer app says there was an error in Minecraft after exiting it.
Appears the delay might be something specific to your setup but I can confirm my PC shows a crash in the Event Viewer as well.
In general we don't track crashes here on the bug tracker (they're automatically submitted to Mojang and they track them internally, separate from this tracker) but because this one is reliably reproduced I'll raise it internally and see whether its something they would like to track.

I am not experiencing this bug in 1.16.0.63, I tried these steps like 10 times and game is not crashed at all.
