That's actually the fault of the wiki. http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki is meant to redirect to https://minecraft.gamepedia.com, but that currently doesn't work unfortunately. The link should be changed anyway however, the URL changed years ago.
I agree with you the redirection should work, but few weeks ago minecraft wikis were moved to Amazon Web Services, and I think they gave up this old url
I'm administrator of the German wiki and I just asked the Gamepedia staff whether they want to maintain that redirect. No response so far. I'll post here once I find out something new
This isn't the first time this the minecraftwiki.net redirect has gone down, but it's been fixed afterwards in the previous case. The link still probably should be replaced with one from minecraft.gamepedia.com, though.
