Several mobs seem to have rendering issues where some or all of the mob is rendered invisible. Specifically:
Spiders: Legs and eyes are visible, but the body is transparent
Zombies: Completely invisible, a very serious issue!
Squid: Body and half of the tentacles are invisible
Chickens: Unsure. I haven't seen any in my 1.4.2 world, so they might be invisible.I have not yet seen any Endermen, Cave Spiders, Blazes, Villagers, or Zombie Pigmen. I do not know if they are effected.
UPDATE: After updating Java and LWJGL, the bug is not fixed but far more random. The previously effected mobs now have random parts missing.
Attached screenshots. The burning effect you see is actually fully-invisible zombies burning in the sun.

UPDATE 2: For reasons that I cannot fathom, either carelessness or system error, this has been marked as a duplicate of
MC-61and resolved. This is not the case. I never made any mention of invisibility potions, and this bug still exists as of 1.4.7. There is no point in this amazing bag tracking system if Mojang isn't even going to read the bug reports, and just classify them as resolved because they supposedly duplicate other, completely unrelated reports.

Confirmed. I have also noticed this in prior versions.
...or maybe they should just change the volume modifier of Enderman sounds? Do you have any idea how much trouble it would be to change to a whole new sound engine? LWJGL may have issues, but the majority of bugs have been fixed and most of the remaining bugs can be fixed by updating your LWJGL.
I would propose instead that Mojang start distributing Minecraft with the newest version of LWJGL.
Agreed with Tristen Allen.
Squids spawn in any single block of water. This is actually very useful sometimes, and fairly comical the rest of the times. xD
Not sure how valuable pictures of invisible things are, but I have uploaded screenshots.
Unable to duplicate this.
If it is indeed happening and you aren't just a lousy shot, I'd be okay with this. Super ninja bats.
That's actually not such a bad bug, considering in normal survival you'd be dead.
Might be a useful thing to exploit for adventure maps and the like. Some ultra-overpowered potion effects topped with blindness and away you go.
Why don't you post a video or at least some screenshots?
1. Your description is fail.
2. Nobody else is having this issue.
3. For your Environment, please put something more descriptive than the default hint text.
Can some moderators start banning these morons?
Could you please fill in Environment correctly? Like OS? Java version? Anything else that isn't completely irrelevant like your Flatland preset?
Also, a video or a screenshot would be nice.
Could you post screenshots? Also, was this SMP or SSP? If it was SMP, then this is indeed a lag issue.
I wasn't aware that the Vanilla /ban command had those options. Why have I been using a Bukkit plugin for this?
Agreed with Tristan.
This isn't a bug. This has been like this since Alpha. At least it was like this when I started in Alpha 1.2.

facepalm
The On A Rail achievement is only obtainable by traveling on a continuous rail in a single direction for a full 1,000 blocks, no stops, no breaks.
There needs a vote-down button here, along with a rule requiring that "bugs" are first checked to actually be bugs. Please use minecraftwiki.net to learn how Minecraft works before assuming that everything is a bug and flooding this site with malarky.
I am confused also.
Could you post a screenshot?
Could you please post a seed and some coords?
At least upload the map?
Weird.
How is it that someone is using your account to log into the same server as you? Was your account stolen?
EDIT: Kudos on making a decent report!
Could you please supply some Environment info? OS? Java version? LWJGL version?
I had this issue during the snapshots. It seemed to be a lag issue because after about 10 minutes the image of the map started loading for other players also.
Try giving the other person the map to physically hold, THEN put it into the frame.
Is this SSP or online?
Could you post screenshots?
Um... wut?
minecraftwiki.net. Learn to use it first.
A curious bug indeed.
Excellent report, by the way.
Have you ever been around real bats before?
As someone who lives within walking distance of a massive bat colony, I can say that bat calls are already annoying low-pitch. Real bat calls are much louder, more constant, and at such a high frequency that I don't know anyone over the age of 30 capable of hearing them.
Hrmm... I was under the impression that this bug was fixed. I recall it being fixed for server specifically, at least.
Can this be duplicated in SMP?
What do you mean the "server" is not loading? You mean that the server program isn't starting? The map isn't loading? Player's can't load the world?
Please include more information about your server, such as OS, RAM, CPU, Java version, etc.
Also, how do you expect people to "try and connect to" your server when you didn't include the IP?
Why are you claiming that your opinion on a sound constitutes a bug?
As I recall, animal spawn rates were reduced in Superflat world because Superflat was intened for building, not survival.
Making it an option for customized Superflats would probably be a good idea, though.
Ah. So it is a feature request and not a bug.
Can someone please start banning people like this?
.This issue is neither resolved nor a duplicate of
MC-61.These mobs do not have invisibility potions on them. If you believe this to be a duplicate of
MC-61, you did not read the description nor did you look at the many screenshots I have provided.I do currently use Optifine, but the error is visible with and without Optifine. When I use Optifine, I also have trouble with entity textures being randomly replaced with terrain.png and random masses of polygons randomly filling whole chunks. That much is clearly Optifine's doing, and is why I hope Optifine will become obsolete after 1.5.
I would update my graphics drivers to see if that fixes the issue, but Intel does not acknowledge this model of graphics adapter anymore. Also, the issue is only on Ubuntu Linux. I have tried updating LWJGL, to no effect.
That would be correct. Updated Environment accordingly.
