Trevor Martin: It is closely related to that other ticket in regards of the impact (lost progress), but the root cause is vastly different. We are working hard on solving both of these issues, but as far as I understand we do know what's causing this bug but not what's causing MCD-1205 yet (keep bug reports coming, they are very useful!).

It feels like this isn't happening at all for most people, but often for some. Maybe all who experiences it have something in common. Could you answer some questions about your setups?
- How much total disk space/free disk space do you have?
- Do you have any external harddrive connected (for example an USB drive)?
- What Playstation 4 model do you have?
- Have you cloned any characters before you started experiencing data loss/corruption?
- Do you have a Playstation Plus subscription?

Similar issue to the one reported above. 4 player local co-op on PS4. Game was working fine but at around lv21-22 we started seeing crashes while in dungeons. The first time this happened there was no impact on character files, but on subsequent crashes it caused corrupted character files for player 2 (my son - who then had to spend hours levelling back up with a new character) and then player 3 (my daughter - who I have been able to create a 'clone' of P1 for to use). This is killing our enjoyment of a great game. To recap (similar to above):
Surely it would make sense for ALL character files to be backed up upon returning to camp? That way the worst outcome is maybe 15-20 mins lost progress. Having one character file is just asking for trouble.
This is a shame, as Minecraft Dungeons is one of the few games that my whole family have enjoyed playing together for extended periods of time. Please fix it, as we feel unable to play while these crashes/corrupt issues are present.
Hi Tomas - as this is very closely related to
MCD-1205(which has even more upvotes about the lost saves and corruption problems) does this mean that a fix is also being applied for that? Is there any idea of timeframe (days, weeks etc?)Thanks for replying Tomas - in both cases it feels like a more robust backup save system at user level would address the main pain point for players, if not the underlying problem itself. I can appreciate that identifying bug related crashes is far more difficult than a systemic / process related issue such as this, but in both cases the major problem is lack of character file backup.
An official comment on
MCD-1205I'm sure would be appreciated.@mods - where is the best place to get updates on this issue?
The amount of bugs and crashes on the PS4 version is quite beyond anything else I've experienced on the console - which is quite something. Four players is pretty much guaranteed crashes, and two/three is still pretty regular. Even if it's not crashing, there are plenty of other weird issues like sound problems or odd blocks of colour at the edge of the screen.
Ordinarily I'd delete and reinstall just in case - but with all characters except P1 saved locally, that isn't an option. This is game breaking - more updates please.
Hi - thanks for the update and good news on bug/crash fixes. Less good on the PS4 save issue - fully losing your character data is a massive issue (potentially hundreds of hours). "Less often" is still quite a scary prospect. Are the team looking into fixes to apply in the next update / patch or is there a structural issue that means it will not be resolved? Why can't other local users be saved to the main player's PS+ cloud saves?
Still crashes repeatedly in four player local multi - despite being patched. So far my family hasn't been able to get through the final Illager dungeon without a crash. Would reinstall but save files for P2 cannot be backed up.
Hi Tomas
1) Over 5gb free disk space
2) No hard drives connected
3) PS4 Pro
4) Not before crashes - but we started cloning since crashes and corruption. However this only works as a slight work around on non-Account users linked to the primary PSN account.
5) P1 (main user) has PS+ so safer from corruption due to cloud saves for that character. Not for other players - especially P2 who is a separate non PS+ account.
If there was a way to back up all characters then I'd try a full reinstall, but currently that would delete P2's character saves.
Yup, none of my family have played it for about a month through fear of losing progress on their characters who aren't PS+ accounts. Shame as it's one of the few action games on the market that caters for the family.
I'm taking the 'one last chance' step of uninstalling and reinstalling the game at the loss of character data for my wife and kids. Pretty pathetic that a viable save option hasn't yet been implemented but after my son got a crash and character wipe on SOLO play today I'm not sure there's any other option.
