Still in 1.15.2
Map files that have been customly made with external tools revert to being completely blank.
In the past it has been always possible to create custom Maps by converting png`s to .dat files in the data file of a world. It saved building up a giant area to create Map-art. You just had to replace a file in your world folder. This however doesnt work anymore in 20w21a.
When Looking at the map it appears to be completely blank which is usually not possible, because when opening an empty map you automatically explore a certain area on the map.
This happens when updating older versions to 1.16 snapshots, but also when doing it directly in a 1.16 world.
If this is intentional or can only be fixed by the creators of the Tools for making the map files that would be very unfortunate and sad. Because it would break many Adventure Maps where the creators just replaced files in the world, which is usually done to save time when creating big map art.
I hope you find a way to fix this issue!
On the Picture you see a used map that still looks empty. This only happens if I fly away from the spot i logged out on, to replace the .dat files in the world Folder, otherwise it looks like on the 2nd Picture, which is also really weird because it isnt a zoomed map, but actually a 1:1 one. And the second map also doesnt show an indicator for where the Player is located, not even on the Edge of the map.
(----
-Only a Question or Little Suggestion----I know this doesnt belong here but as I am already Talking About the Maps I would like to ask if you could make the Maps in invisible itemframes be set back a Little bit more. This would be very useful when creating infinity Rooms where Maps are placed on walls and ceilings to cover up blocks and create a weird space. Previously the Maps in itemframes had the Edge on them which they still have, but when using invisible ones the Map seems to be set back a bit further on the wall, as seen on Picture 3 "itemframes". The middle map is placed in an invisible itemframe. This is probably intentional to stop it from Looking like its hovering. As seen in "itemframes2" there is still a little red sand shining through. I am asking if you could set back the maps in invisible itemframes a fraction more to remove the gap on corners. It would make it possible to retexture blocks for example if the maps would only just cover the blocks and would make infinity mazes possible becuase you could then not see the corners anymore.
If the second part is in the way I am sorry!, I can remove it again if you want, it was because it was kind of related to the issue at the top.
Or should I should write it in a different report that the Maps are still hovering a little bit or something)
just something so it can be linked on mine wiki quicklyEndermen usually do not teleport to any waterlogged blocks, to avoid teleporting into water.
But there is a case where they do.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a void world, or go to the end and fly away from the end islands.2. Make a plattform of waterlogged blocks, with a full surface. (For example waterlogged top slabs: /fill ~ ~ ~10 ~ ~ ~10 minecraft:smooth_stone_slab [type=top, waterlogged=true]
3. Make another platform of any full block only a few blocks away. (/fill ~ ~ ~ ~10 ~ ~10 minecraft:smooth_stone)
4. Summon endermen on the second platform, for example with a repeating command block in the middle a few blocks above.
(/summon minecraft:enderman ~ ~-4 ~)Note how none of the endermen teleport to the platform of waterlogged top slabs!
Then:
5. Make a ceiling at least 3 blocks (and maximum 20, so best something like 5) above the waterlogged top slabs -> The endermen will, as expected, teleport to the ceiling (/fill ~ ~ ~ ~10 ~ ~10 minecraft:smooth_stone)
6. Cover the ceiling in water (/fill ~ ~ ~ ~10 ~ ~10 minecraft:water)
NOTE: Now endermen will teleport to the platform of waterlogged slabs!!!

I did try to search. Also for the word "stuck in water"
The fix of this has led to players not being able to step down a block while sneaking with a block above the head (
MC-209925).You now need to mine the two blocks above, and to the side of the player to jump a full block up and then fall two, onto the block you wanted to get to.
It probably conflicts with the fix of this bug and will therefore probably from now on be seen as intended behaviour.
@Mark Derickson I just came across
MC-197647that is the reason why I came to check on this page again. My report seems to dublicate it, but I find my title a bit easier to understand.
Edit: This is also the reason why I didn't find
MC-197647in the first place. For everyone that is interested in this issue, it is a duplicate and I would encourage you to vote for the original bug report!
@Micheal Wobst
In the most recent snapshots this problem has been reintroduced.
Because the build limit has been extended down, while you are in a flat world, you are below y level 0, which means you get a black horizon if you fly up a few dozen blocks up from y level -64. (as shown in the screenshot)
I am not sure whether to open a new report, that has not been marked as 'Resolved' yet, because this report is also very old, and probably has a different cause.
May I suggest for the title to include 'horizon' or 'black horizon'?
I was just about to report the issue, as I didn't find this ticket before, and was pointed here by a helper on the discord!
"In addition, this is different from the standard weight of 5 in (most) ocean type biomes."
This part is apparently intended though, to combat the issue of there being significantly less spawning spaces in rivers, compared to oceans.
can confirm for non-optifine 1.16.5 2021-02-21 14-21-57.mkv
@Adan Chappuis Ideally remove the 'optifine' bit
@Hudson Schlumberger
That makes sense, and that means that there just needs to be some blocks above, that aren't valid for teleporting, like what the water does in how I experienced it
It might not even need to block the teleporting, it will just be less likely and harder to spot, because the endermen would directly teleport to the 'ceiling' blocks
I would side with @Loak van Vucht
This report is invalid in my opinion, otherwise the non- waterloggable doors would be a bug too
Update: The Endermen teleport to any movement blocking material, even if the water is accessible from the top (like waterlogged bottom slabs, or waterlogged trapdoors(on the lower block) and things. https://youtu.be/RyI8t3DV0Hc
This confirms that the issue has to do with the tags different blocks have (movement-blocking, waterlogged, etc.),
OR
