This also affected 1.18.12, and probably earlier versions like 1.18.11 and 1.18.10, but my memory is failing me.
A Drowned will pick up any dropped Nautilus Shells they find, which makes sense, and is not the issue. If a Drowned is attacking a player it will completely ignore
the playerand will not pick up the Nautilus Shell until the player leaves the area, like exits the water, is killed, etc. That also makes sense, and may or may not be intentional, but is not the issue. It is unknown whether a Drowned attacking a Villager will pick up a Nautilus Shell. The issue is that the Drowned will pick up the Nautilus Shell even if it has a weapon in its main hand. Rather than putting the Nautilus Shell in its off-hand, where the shell is normally held when it is spawned, it instead is put in its main hand, and any weapon will be dropped. The weapon is dropped with full durability every time, and may have enchantments if they were present.
Due to the fact that a Drowned will burn in the sun, and during the night will attack players, this bug is difficult to reproduce unless in the water. It is also difficult to reproduce this in water deeper than 1 or 2 blocks, since the items will float away. This also seems to occur with only Nautilus Shells, although it possibly occurs with other items.
I discovered this when I was killed by a Drowned in an underwater ruin. I had a Nautilus Shell with me (I probably had several actually) and when I returned to recover my items I found that the Drowned hadn't despawned and had dropped its Trident, still with full durability, to pick up one of my Nautilus Shells. I also apologize if this is a Duplicate Report, but I couldn't find anything else about this.
I play 1.18.32 (that's the most recent version right?) on Nintendo Switch. My friends and I have made jokes about having the looting enchantment on our fists, because we are killing skeletons and getting bows VERY often. I got three bows in a row from killing skeletons with an un-enchanted trident. Getting weapons from zombies and drowneds seem to have normal drop rates (they SEEM to be normal, but they aren't found with weapons that often, so it could be that I simply haven't killed enough to notice), but armor from zombies or skeletons seems to drop about 50% of the time. Piglins and Zombified Piglins also drop weapons and armor very often too now that I'm thinking about it...
I always find Piglins or Zombies on the wrong side of Nether Portals if there is a player in both the Overworld and Nether near that portal at the same time, so I'm not having this issue. Is it possible that the mob is despawning? You could try giving it a name tag.
Isn't this a bug? If Infested blocks generate in strongholds, and some of the blocks are Mossy Stone Bricks and Cracked Stone Bricks (which can be Infested), then why aren't they Infested sometimes?
I think [Mojang] Grum (Erik Broes) doesn't understand how vines work. When you place vines, it places it on only one side of the block. So if you want vines on three sides, you must place three vines. Later, if you break the vines, even with shears, it drops only one vine, meaning two vines are lost.
People aren't asking to be able to place one vine and have it cover three sides then break it to get three vines back (meaning the amount of vines tripled). They are simply asking that if they place three, then break the three, they get all three back, instead of only one.
This is inconsistent with Glow Lichen and Skulk Veins.
Yeah I see that it is not Work As Intended anymore, but I wanted to make it clear what exactly was the bug, because if a Mojang employee didn't understand it, other people might not either.
Can this be marked as confirmed then?
If this is being fixed...
I guess I liked it. I mean it's kind of annoying when you only have one bowl and a full inventory so it drops on the ground, that is annoying and should be fixed. But I like having my bowls stack again after I eat out of one. I'll have like 3 or 4 bowls in my inventory, as well as like 20 of each mushroom, and whenever my hunger is low I just craft a bowl of mushroom stew, the bowl appears in my hotbar, and after I eat it, it returns to the slot with the other bowls.
I guess I'm saying I wish that part remains the same...
Is it possible that could be a setting or something in the pause menu so players can turn that on or off? Or is that too hard to do/not worth the extra work?
Yeah Londos I think you're correct. I'm almost certain that for things like lecterns, end portal frames, and respawn anchors, it won't let you use your item (like your snowball or ender pearl for example) because it thinks "You cannot charge a respawn anchor with a snowball!" or "You can't display an ender pearl on a lectern!" and doesn't realize you're trying to use the item in your hand.
Because of the way block textures are made, I don't think that is a bug, nor is that easily fixable.
Are you able to equip all of the other types of eyes?
Couldn't there just be a "Change Dimension" button when you're in a portal, like the "Leave Bed" button when you're sleeping? (of course not sleeping in spectator though)
So if you want to fly right through it and not teleport, you can easily do that. If you want to teleport, you can easily do that as well.
I have seen this issue as well...
You often don't get the amount of saplings you need to grow another tree. You are required to obtain at least four just for one tree, and there are so few leaves that this is often incredibly difficult without a hoe with fortune or something. Every other tree either:
This could be pretty easily fixed by just increasing the rate of dropped saplings from leaves.
It's also annoying when you buy it from a wandering trader, but MUST buy 4 in order to get a single tree.
Tripwire hook is in that list above twice by the way. Also, if normal and redstone torches are affected, what about soul torches?
Also it looks like the list, with the exception of snow layers, is just anything that the player can walk through. That might be intentional...?
I play 1.19.31 on Nintendo Switch in a Realm (mine) and am not having this issue at all, which is funny, because I usually have performance issues (just in general, not for specifically Minecraft or anything) on Nintendo Switch. Is it possible this bug doesn't apply to the host of the realm?
I'm really experiencing none of this, no unloaded chunks at all, no lag, or anything. (Although I have seen the black parts on maps, but that sounds like it may be a separate bug)
I think the game is forgetting all of the textures, causing it to take a while to load chunks/dimensions, causing lag, and making black spots on maps. I am fairly sure the things other people are seeing (again, I'm not getting this lag) began when fixing the pink textures, because the game forgot about the textures that were no longer needed, which makes sense, but it also forgot about the ones still in use, so the game has to load it again. I hope that makes sense because it was a total run-on sentence.
This issue was fixed by 1.18.33, right? I had horrible lag up until then, and after that Hotfix it disappeared and I haven't seen anything since then, so I don't know why people are still having issues.
Isn't this just a duplicate of MCPE-74963? Why does this have to be a separate issue/bug?
Can this be marked as "related" to my report about Drowneds dropping their weapon when they pick up a nautilus shell? How related do the bugs have to be?
If it helps, the report was MCPE-155739
EDIT: I also haven't updated that report in a while...
Do you know what exactly caused it? Like did you open the map in the end then make a copy of it in the overworld or something?
Does it matter whether the button is on a wall or on the ground? Does this happen no matter what direction the button is facing (on the ground) or what side it is on (on a wall)?
I agree, I think this is Works as Intended. Usually a left click changes the note, and a right click simply plays it without changing it, right? So do both left click AND right click change the pitch? If that's the case, then this is a bug, but otherwise this sounds like Works as Intended.
There is a weird way to do it, I forget how, but I know I did it myself just a few days ago.
Can you write the steps separately?
For example:
It starts to get a bit confusing after that.
Also, I assume you mean a carrot on a stick, not a fishing rod, right?
I don't think you should be basing your decision off of a fletching table. If the bow looked like the bow on the fletching table, it would also have to be made vertical. Other blocks like crafting tables have items shown on the side of them, that doesn't mean those shown items will have the same texture as the held item, or that an item like that even exists in the game.
That only requires two textures, one for arrows, one for fireworks. It would require way too many extra textures to be created if one was made for every type of tipped arrow. Fireworks and arrows are very different items, so a separate texture for each makes sense. A crossbow also leaves the arrow or firework loaded in the crossbow, so it makes a little more sense that you would be able to see what you loaded into it. With a bow, the arrow doesn't get stored in the bow. If you forget which arrow has been loaded in the bow, just switch to a different hotbar slot (to cancel shooting the bow) and look for an arrow (by opening your inventory) in your offhand slot or near slot 0. You can't do that with a crossbow, because the position of the arrows or fireworks in your inventory may have changed since you loaded the crossbow.
For those who are still having issues, are you using things like texture packs or other behavior packs? I can see at least one player in the attachments using texture packs, and another seems to be in a public server. Both of those players could be experiencing something caused by lag in the server or the game struggling to load those specific textures. Again, I'm not experiencing any of these issues, so I'm assuming other players' issues are coming from something else. (Especially since @per48r said it has been fixed for them)
EDIT: Actually, I think I am experiencing this issue a bit, but only over oceans...
Any fast method of travel over ocean can cause it, whether by boat, with an elytra, etc
Keeping the two separated does make it a little bit clearer which is which though.
Oh this is already Works as Intended, okay, interesting.
Can someone add an attachment/example please? It might not be necessary to include one but it is still helpful.
By the way, Resistance 255 is unnecessary, Resistance V gives you complete damage immunity so anything higher is pointless.
Isn't this Works as Intended in Java Edition too? Unless Mojang plans on changing it for both versions, but I don't see why they would do that, except maybe to remove door "double-jumping".
I don't know if it's possible to recover that. It might be, but I don't think so...
That's like having two pictures of the same place, one that you just took ten seconds ago, and one from 100 years ago. If you throw them both away, you can re-take the newer picture, but it's too late to take that older picture again. So unless there's a copy of that picture somewhere that wasn't thrown away, it is gone forever.
If this is just a rendering issue, where the game remembers the old locked map but cannot display it, then you may get your locked maps fixed. But if the game doesn't remember at all what color those pixels should be, then your locked maps... are lost... as far as I know...
YES! I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM!
I downloaded the world from my Realm, since I would be offline for a few hours, and I knew none of my friends would be online at that time. But when I joined the world... nothing. Empty inventory, and back at world spawn. I ran over to where our homes were, and they were still there, but my ender chest was empty. It was like the game completely forgot I had ever existed in this world before. I drowned myself, and respawned back at the world spawn point again (rather than next to the bed I've slept in basically every night in this world).
I assumed it was simply because I was offline and not signed into my Microsoft Account* or Nintendo Account (it was on Nintendo Switch), but if others are having this problem while online, then this is definitely a bug.
*I assumed the inventory and location of each player was based on the person's Microsoft Account. Because I was offline and therefore not signed in, the game assumed I didn't have one and assumed I was a new player, joining the world for the first time, and without any items.
EDIT 1: This was... Monday night, probably? I deleted that world (just that copy from my Switch, I still have the original uploaded onto the Realm) and when I played in the same world, the original copy, on the Realm on Wednesday, I still had my items, spawned in a normal place, etc.
Is this a parity issue? Meaning, does this happen in Java Edition as well?
Did you place the beacon from above and see the obsidian, then viewed from below and saw the obsidian had disappeared? Or did you place it from below, and immediately saw no obsidian?
it might not matter, but I'm asking just in case I guess
Is it avoiding the path blocks, or just not prioritizing them? For example, If you have two routes of identical length, one of path blocks and one of grass, will the villager always take the grass one, and never take the path one? Or will the villager give them the same priority and take each path approximately half the time?
I think
MCPE-165054is a duplicate of this bug/they report the same bug.I play on Nintendo Switch, this issue was horrible in 1.18.30. It got better in 1.18.31 and 1.18.32, then disappeared forever in 1.18.33. I haven't seen this bug since, so I believe it's been fixed...? Unless people have video evidence clearly showing it still happening for some people, I would say it is fixed.
You probably died during the loading screen or something, 7 levels is the maximum amount of experience a player can drop upon death
This is because immediate respawn actually respawns you before your experience is ever dropped, and is either never dropped, or dropped as you respawn, so, at your respawn point, and you'll pick it up immediately. Experience doesn't drop immediately when you die or a mob dies, due to a different bug.
So when MCPE-74963 is eventually fixed, this bug, which is only caused by that one, will be fixed as well.
"Monster Spawner" is now the intended name, it was changed from "Spawner" to "Monster Spawner" in Java Edition in a recent snapshot.
This is actually a duplicate of
MCPE-164765, but I think this report has more information and therefore, in my opinion, the bug should be tracked on this ticket. Then I'd recommend making a copy of your world before you join. If something goes wrong, just use the copy of the world. (But then you should probably make a copy of that copy, in case later something goes wrong with that copy)
So you're saying, every time you join a multiplayer world, then leave, then join any world, your inventory will be empty? In the second step, when you said "log into any world", can that be the same multiplayer world as step 1, or does it have to be different? Does it have to be a singleplayer world or multiplayer? Does it make a difference (in step 1) whether you use a normal multiplayer world, or you use a Realm, and does it matter if you are the host or if another player hosts?
It's fine if you're unable to answer all of these questions!
I understand the change, but I haven't decided if I'm for or against it. It would be really annoying if you were riding a camel and you happen to ride past a boat or minecart or something and snap it is now in the boat (or minecart). You then have to dismount to break the boat in order to get the camel out. I think camels should be able to get in boat and minecarts if the player isn't riding the camel.
@Guinea Pig 22 Usually exiting and rejoining the world fixes the issue. The game assumes you're a new player (no idea why) so it gives you a new starting map, empty inventory, empty ender chest, etc. It usually still remembers your old inventory, you just have to exit and rejoin another time to get it back.
Was there an "order" that the items had to be picked up in then?
Klicrai, that sounds like you died. If you lost your inventory and levels permanently, even after exiting and rejoining, then you probably died. That would also explain why you aren't stuck at world spawn every time you join.
Putting items in a chest won't help! The game knows exactly which items you have, it just doesn't recognize you as the owner of those items. It assumes you are a new player, and gives you a new inventory, new map if applicable, and spawns you at world spawn.
If this happens, simply exit and rejoin, and it will recognize which player you are the second time, and give you your inventory and levels, and everything else.
Putting items in a chest is not a good idea! If you place items in a chest, then the next (real life) day, you join the world with nothing, DO NOT TAKE ITEMS OUT OF THE CHEST. When you exit the world and rejoin, the game will forget about the "new player" who had nothing, so any items that the "new player" had will be lost, including those items you took out of the chest!
I agree, this issue is VERY annoying, but just exit and rejoin whenever it happens and you will be completely fine.
That's a totally different issue, about people losing their inventory while being AFK. This is about losing your inventory when you join a world. Also, this one is much more easily (although temporarily) fixed, by exiting and rejoining the world. I have experienced this bug once or twice, but not the other one.
I agree that it should be moved to be next to the other small flowers, but its current position isn't bad; it's next to cactus which is also a plant that can damage you.
I disagree; both bug reports are saying the texture needs to be shifted vertically by one pixel. It doesn't matter which block they compare the tuff bricks to.
