(FIXED!) Auto updated to latest release launcher 1.6.76, now just getting white box
Confirmed on 1.13.1 on Windows 7 client version. Sometimes drops, mostly doesn't drop.
I am running 18w50a, and I'm not sure if this is a bug or not. I lost all the villagers in a village while I had the bad omen V effect, thus ending the omen effect. What's odd, is that the pillagers and vindicators then proceeded to ignore me, and bee-lined, toward the next village in range. I followed them, and even killed one pillager on the way, still no reaction from any of them, including the one I attacked/killed. After following them 3000 blocks, instead of attacking the next village, they went past it, and just kept going.

I get the same behavior on Farmers. I can trade with them, but they don't do any farming.

Kirk Lanctot, are you sure that your issue is not MC-142650?

Happens frequently in my 1.9 PC version, also when I was 1.8x. No half blocks or the like, as others have reported, just ordinary farmland. Seems to only happen in this area.
Thanks. FYI, the resource pack I use is OVOS rustic 1.4.1.
Also FYI, this is the Zombie form of the Nitwit villager.
Mine did the same, and a reboot resolved the issue. Maybe a path setting or other system value needed to update?
Happens for me, even if I close the program entirely and reload the world. I am on 1.12-pre5.
On Windows 7, 64bit as well. Also, the caught item never reaches the player, you have to 'go get it' every time.
Just tagged the Baby Drowned, which did work and show, as an experiment. However, when I left the game and returned, staying in a 5 block radius of the Baby Drowned location (was in single player survival mode BTW), the Baby was gone, and just the chicken was left. Odd....
I just migrated a world from 18w16a to 18w20b, and have that same behavior. I have an underground spawner that I have used for some time as a zombie farm, and the light level just went too high to spawn. All that was happening was Zombies were fighting a few Skeletons that spawned while I was away, the light level went to 8, and the spawner stopped working.. World is 800mb, wasn't sure if you wanted that uploaded. Seed is -1778555556, position is 97 15 428.
Definitely still in 18w20c vanilla, in a brand new world.
I can confirm at least the first one. I was killed by a Vindicator that was in one of the village houses during a raid.
OK. FYI, the wiki was changed to that description since I reported it.
On mine, single chests have the sound, but not double chests. I can confirm that furnaces, blast furnaces and smokers are all failing as above.
Michael,
I will see if I can reproduce it....
I get the same farmer behavior....
Confirmed on Pillagers that have exhausted the durability of their crossbows. They do regain their arms, but no weapon, if a raiding party comes around, FWIW.
Confirmed! Only the villagers have disappeared, over 40 of them, Large number of errors like this in log:

If it's any help, I have found that if you change the current audio device while Minecraft (launcher) is running, it still uses the audio device that was active at the time Minecraft started. I had to exit Minecraft, including the launcher, in order for Minecraft to use the newly selected device.
If you do F3+G (Show chunk borders), are the villagers and farm in the same chunk? I've had issues with them not 'seeing' the farm area in that case.
I see this on Optifine (latest version) when I use fancy graphics settings. They reappear if you close and reopen, or (I believe) you (F3+T) refresh the resource packs.
It is showing that it is set to 3, which is the default. Worlds behave normally, they just won't quit without freezing. Please note the correction, it is on "Quit Game", not "Save and Quit to Title".
Windows 7 Ultimate (Version 6.1 - Build 7601 - SP1) - 64 bit
AMD A8-5500 APU 3.20 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX-1050
16GB ram
FYI - All previous versions are working fine, same launcher. Just the 1.17 is doing this. I didn't try any of the pre-releases.
No, it saves the world, either single or multi just fine. It is only when I choose 'Quit Game' that it freezes.
Attachment is done.
The current version doesn't support audio output switching mid-game. If you do F3+T (Reload resource pack) it will start working on your headphones. I think the next version of MC will fix this.
