EDIT #2: It appears that the Silk Touch enchantment is behind the cause of items such as basalt and stems. It "corrupts" the blocks in a way and they cannot be picked back up. However, if you use an unenchanted tool or one with any other enchantment other than Silk Touch and break an "uncorrupted" block, drop one of the corrupted blocks out of your inventory through the inventory screen, and collect the uncorrupted block first then the corrupted one, it fixes the whole stack of blocks. User Noopaloide kindly provided video evidence of this occuring, and I will do the same for proof of consistency.

UPDATED DESCRIPTION: Placing several of the new blocks, including basalt, polished basalt, stems, hyphae, and the twisting and weeping vines and mining them with the silk touch enchantment "corrupts" the placed block. Placing these "corrupted" blocks will make it appear as though the item was placed, but it will not be removed from your inventory. It also cannot be removed from your inventory using the Q hotkey and cannot be used to press buttons, pull levers, open inventorys (chests, crafting tables, furnaces, etc.), and so on if it is currently the item in your hand.
- There is one type of block that is seemingly random as to how it happens, and isn't based on silk touch. Both warped and crimson fence gates are very broken where sometimes they can be replaced fine, but other times they become corrupted blocks when broken. I cannot find a reproducible pattern with these.
Steps to reproduce:
- Get only five blocks of basalt and place them down.
- Mine them with a silk touch pickaxe and pick them back up.
- Try to place them again. You will find they have become "corrupted".
There are plenty of instances of this occurring in the attachments, as well as a way to reverse the block "corruption".

This appears to have been fixed as of Beta 1.16.0.63. I cannot reproduce the issue anymore.
The lighting underwater is far too bright on Bedrock Edition. It defeats the challenge of going underwater or diving into underwater caves if you can see everything as though you have a night vision potion on 24/7 at the bottom of the ocean. It should be
darkened down to the levels of what Java Edition has in order to make it more fun and challenging. MythicBurritoz: This ticket was closed because we can no longer reproduce the problem in new worlds, and because the only reports of it still happening are in worlds from two years or more ago. It is likely that the bug damaged your world back then and it cannot be repaired at this point, especially if you've been regularly opening it in Beta versions for a while.
(Whenever possible, Mojang includes repair logic for damaged worlds when they issue a bug fix, but it's only practical to do this for regular releases, not Betas, Unfortunately, it's simply the nature of Beta versions that they can damage a world, even beyond repair in some cases. That's why you're warned to make backups of worlds you open in a Beta release, and to use Beta versions only for testing.)

Mega_Spud, I tested with differently enchanted tools and it doesn't appear that it matters what enchantment is present. Francisco has actually discovered part of what causes the bug as I was able to reproduce his steps. However it doesn't appear to be consistent, as sometimes I will log in and the blocks will place like normal, and other times ghost blocks are created.
I have also tested OcelotOnesie's steps and I can confirm those are consistently reproduced.
That is a gravel patch, which has been a part of natural generation since the Java Beta. There is no issue here.
I have also just come across this issue myself. It doesn't even need to be a lot of guardians and the nether will just completely shut down on your world because it cannot handle them. Oddly enough it works 100% fine on the phone version. It also doesn't need to be a 2x2 area as I sent about 15 guardians through a fresh portal and it still crashed the game.
I have had the same thing happen as part of my guardian farm. It doesn't need to be many mobs, but they will crash the world upon entering the nether in their radius. Upon getting it to load after some lucky attempts, all of about 200-300 guardians vanished.
It isn't just the End or Nether. My base is underground and fully lit up, but sounds are nearly constantly playing whether I'm above or within the base.
I could be wrong, but I don't believe they changed that in 1.14.60 as it is still the Buzzy Bees update. It sounds correct in beta 1.16.0.57, so it will come in the Nether Update for sure.
Very annoying bug. I thought my game was glitching out, lol.
Jayson, unfortunately I crash when item entities cross through a nether portal as well, however it only happens once and the item does not disappear when I make it through.
This has happened to me as well on Windows 10. Very frustrating.
After a bit of investigation, I believe this issue was caused by the resolution of
MCPE-65390, which renamed all of the items listed here by their JSON file handle. Were you able to see the inside of the world in these "unloaded chunks"? As in, could you see caves, stone, lava, etc.? Because if you could, I am sorry to say, but your world has corruption.
@noopaloide, that is a huge find! I was able to reproduce this consistently with the basalt, and it makes sense why it always happens to me as I use silk touch on all of my tools.
However, there is still one thing that isn't affected by silk touch exclusively, and that is the two new fence gates. It happens immediately with any type of tool, enchanted or not.
Definitely a way higher concentration of mobs than before 1.16. Magma cubes, pigmen, and skeletons are constantly spawning in my blaze farm whereas they practically never did before.
It seems to depend on how many mobs go through now. Around 20ish mobs and i was able to go through with no crash, though only one mob went through. Around 100ish mobs and the game crashed yet again.
This issue is also present in the current nether update beta. If you leave the end through the end gate and come back to your respawn anchor in the nether, large portions of the nether do not visibly generate. The same can be said for coming back from the nether to the overworld, as your post states.
What Auldrick said is a good point. I play on a powerful Windows 10 computer that allows for far more intense graphics than my Xbox One does, yet the spawner does not display an animation for me. Power has nothing to do with it.
Appears to have been fixed in beta 1.16.0.61. Sent over 100 guardians through a portal with no crash when entering to the nether and all guardians made it through.
Im aware this ticket is closed, but I am still experiencing this glitch in 1.16.0.61 beta. Have had this bug since roughly 1.2.
It does appear to have been fixed between the last beta I was consistently playing and now the full release. I cannot seem to reproduce anymore.
Affects 1.17.41
Experiencing the same issue on Windows. I believe this has to do with the new change to how their sound fades away the further you are.
