If you pause Minecraft in single player, anything moving stutters in the background of the pause window, and if you are moving, the whole game view stutters in the background. It the background of the pause window, instead of being still, like it should be.
I haven't tried this on multiplayer, but I doubt this will affect multiplayer, as the game continues in the background. To replicate:
1. Move, or make surethere's moving in your view.

When I opened my survival world in 1.18, I found that some of the bedrock at the bottom of the world had not been replaced by deepslate. The survival world was created multiple versions ago.

It might be caused by
MC-2813being fixed.I’m also having this issue when there’s no wifi:
Device: iPad Air 2
iOS/iPadOS Version: 13.5.1
Minecraft Version: 16.0.0
I’ve found a crash analytics log, does it have any device identifying info? If not then if there’s a way to send it to the devs then I’d do that.
For me when I start Minecraft w/ no wifi, the Minecraft loading screen progresses a bit, then freezes, then crashes. However, it loads successfully with wifi. I’m signed in to Xbox Live.
I can also confirm this issue on iPadOS. My world is quite old (was started since before the nether was added, as evidenced by the nether reactor tower!) so maybe that has something to do with it? Here’s a 1.17 copy of my world: [^SunderB’s World Pre-1.18.zip]
