I’ve been exploring, naming and placing banners, then using a map on them held in my main hand to create map markers. I noticed when I logged on after Realm updated to 1.13.1 that the most recent banner I map-marked was gone from the map. I logged out next to it, so I just put it back on the map again. Then as I explored, I set two more markers, and when I set the second I realized he first had gone from the map. I was unable to locate it again - as I looked for that one, the second new marker disappeared from my map. I found that one, placed on the inside of an igloo wall. It still showed a transparent banner hit box but the banner was invisible. I used my map on it and got an unlabeled map marker (the invisible banner had been labeled when visible). Since I could tell the banner wasn’t present and invisible, I thought that might have been why I couldn’t find the earlier banner I placed. I decided to try logging off and back on to see if the banners were visible again.
Upon logging in, I was back at spawn with an empty inventory and no XP, as if I had just joined the Realm. I walked closer to a tall pillar we have built near spawn, confused. I logged out again, and back in, several more times. Each time, I was back at a random point near spawn, and not the same point where I had just logged out (for example, log out next to our pillar, log in far from it again).
There are three other people on the Realm; I have not had a chance to have them test it (and I’m a bit afraid to after my experience). I am not the Realm owner.
Update: I have been able to have another Realm member try logging on, mining/building for a bit, and logging back off and on - he is also reset at spawn as I was.
We have experienced this on survival Realms - Windows 10 version 1.4.2. Multiple horses tied to a fence post with a lead have disappeared, and I tried taking the visible lead off the fence post after the horse went away, and no lead dropped. We have also had various animals disappear from fenced areas, migrate between nearby fenced areas, or just disappear while we were logged off.
@ Mega_Spud I’d appreciate it if your responses didn’t imply that being able to add new realm members is the only issue here - while I would agree it’s the most impactful issue, if you’re going to go around merging everyone’s bug reports, address and acknowledge the whole bug.
I haven’t needed to add new members since starting my Realm, but since the beginning of my Realm, turning PvP off would only stay set for each member while they were logged off - then while we were trying to figure out that problem, the entire permissions system just disappeared, as Anthony pointed out, TWO MONTHS ago.
I’ve been part of software development planning and sprints, and I have to agree that this entire situation is asinine. You don’t remove something like that without any warning or even acknowledgement for months after, to paying customers. This is not open source software or a beta test. And lastly, the feeling from this bug report platform is that minor issues such as “hey, sometimes guardians float in the air a little” garner an equal amount of attention and urgency as something that genuinely breaks the gameplay for many people.
It’s not a good feeling, and it’s making my friends and I consider going to a different game.
If you want to keep the bed item, pushing the “existing” side of it with a piston as Mega_Spud suggested did work for me (Windows 10 edition) and dropped the bed.
Using Java version 1.13, I am having what I believe is the same issue at a witch hut. There was a single witch when I found the hut; after killing it, I haven't seen any more. I spent a few hours fishing on a platform about 30 blocks above the hut roof, and there are drops in the collection chest from probably 4-6 witches. There was a series of caves under it, which I cleared of mobs and lit fully before finishing the witch farm. Likewise, the area around the farm is mostly water, with the solid blocks lit to prevent other mobs spawning.
I am having this problem in 1.13 Java Realms. I'm getting very sparse spawns (less than 10 in an 8 hour period) in a witch hut that I built, with the area around it made spawn-proof and my idling platform about 95 blocks above it to avoid the possible interference of underground caves.
I read the description of MC-134506 as Thilo commented above, and if this was an intentional change meant to break AFK farming, Mojang needs to come out and say that, so players know whether it's a genuine bug or expected behavior.
Our realm owner did not take action yet, but both affected characters were able to log in this evening and everything reverted to the last state before the 1.13.1 update was installed. So far everything appears resolved?
The 1.13.2 update has drastically improved mob spawn rates in my experience (the witch farm I had mentioned in a previous comment is suddenly extremely productive). In my opinion, this issue is resolved. I hope everyone else is experiencing similar success.
I can also confirm, in 1.13.2, with 6 server members and usually 2-3 online at a time, we are unable to use elytra, boats, or large numbers of shulker boxes without experiencing severe TPS lag. To the point that we get dropped out of the sky if we try flying around. Memory usage during these episodes is usually around 20% of the available 2GB.
