UPDATE 6: Fix deployed! PLEASE TEST AND GIVE FEEDBACK!
[Mojang] Mega_Spud (Jay Wells) added a comment - 2019/11/04
We have now deployed a fix to Realms servers which will help to prevent the loss of progress when all players leave the Realm. We would very much like to hear back from players as to whether this particular issue is resolved for you, before we mark the ticket as fixed. Please note that we are still investigating some crashing issues, which may be a separate issue.
This is not a forum post, if you can add information (other than the ones we know already), or maybe a workaround, then feel free, but otherwise, just press the "Vote on this issue" and/or "Start watching this issue" to give it a Bump and get updates once we got news back from Mojang.
Also, please moderate your comments towards Mojang Team, if you are unsatisfied with the service, raise a complaint, but this is a Bug Report, not a Customer Service Claim.
Thank you!

Description:
Dear Mojang Support Team,I have a 10 player realm subscription, and since 1.13, we are experiencing 2-3 hour rollbacks.
The game on this paid server is literally unplayable like this.
How it appears:
I join in, start playing around, build, explore etc... Log off (normal log off, via escape menu).
If I join back immediately, or ~5 minutes later, the realm is properly putting me back to where I left off.The next day/or even same day afternoon, when I log on, I find myself directly at the point where I started out last time. All items, chunks and inventory are re-set.
Canceling subscription until this gets resolved, since I see https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/REALMS-4 didn't get any support at all.
Also as I see, we are not the only ones experiencing this, but didn't find an open ticket for the 1.13 re-appearance of this bug: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/dpx9l7/realms_not_saving/
Update 1: We got it confirmed, that a huge amount of players experience this across all platforms and both small to big Realms.
Update 2: Confirmed Automatic Save/Load backups are also affected by this issue.
Update 3: Mega Spud confirms, that bug is reported to Mojang internal Bug tracker and the issue will be fixed in a next update.
Update 4: Manual backups made from one client, which is not logged on the Realm, while another one is logged on into the Realm do keep the updates.
(Possible workaround, but not a solution for sure.) (By @Harper, Unconfirmed yet, however sounds reasonable.)
Update 5: If we erase and create a new map, the rollbacks still occur. So the Realm doesn't specifically roll back to pre 1.13 state.
Kind Regards,
PatrikUPDATE 7:
2019/12/09. We acknowledge crashes and rollbacks are happening still at a high rate. Thanks for you patience while we are working hard to fix this.**

This is a known issue, and we will bring the player activity tab back in a future update.
Heh. Sorry for the lack of updates. Let me go through what is going on here.
With the new GPDR legislation going into effect in May, we had to do some changes into how we track and log player activity on Realms. Unfortunately we had to take down this feature in the process, as we don't have the neccessary consent from all users - owners and guests - to log and show their activity to other players.
Unfortunately, getting the engineering work in place to actually get the consent from all players is a bit bigger feat than expected, so we probably won't be getting activity tracking back on Realms soon. I understand this is not the answer you were looking for, but we will get this feature back to Realms in the future.

We are seeing this issue from time to time but don't have a solid repro. If it happens, the owner can close the realm, and the reopen it again. This will force the server to restart and will solve the issue.
Experimental gameplay is not 100% supported on Realms.
This issue is fixed in an upcoming version, no ETA yet.

We have made large improvements on Realms to handle latency better. This should improve lag for all players.

During the past 6 months we have been working a lot of reducing performance issues on Realms. The experience should be a lot better for most players now.

If this happens, you can try to close the Realm and re-open it again, which should solve the problem. It might occur again after this though, but at least it is easier than downloading and uploading the world.
This seems related to https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/REALMS-494 where chunks are not loaded properly.
We have a fix that will go live on Realms in the next few days. This will enable you to download the latest version of your world from your Realm, even on 1.10.0. Old backups might still give this error until 1.11 is released. We're sorry for the inconvenience.
Fixed in an upcoming version. Note that experiemental gameplay is not fully supported on realms.
After a new game release, the realm will stay on the old version until either the owner joins the realm with the new game version or 2 days have passed, whatever comes first.
We've made a lot of fixes to our service to fight lag. This should be fixed for most parts.
Issue confirmed.
This is fixed with an hotfix to Realms service.
Sorry this happened to you. There's nothing we can do about the corruption on your world. You could try opening the world locally and if that works reupload the world.
Not a realms issue.
We had an outage purchasing Realms and Minecoins which should be resolved since September 26.
We had an outage which was fixed by Sept 26.
This was fixed Sept 26.
We know that the available documentation on how to make add-ons work properly on realms is lacking. What you really need is for your content to have a unique UUID across all content available, and increase the version number for every time you want to use a new version. As content is shared on Realms - we do not store the add-ons with the world but rather pull it from a shared database - everytime you upload an add-on we will look for if that content already exists. If it does, we grab the add-on from our existing database. Further, if you are reusing the UUID from a Marketplace pack, we will simply drop that content and not use it.
Regarding player permissions on Realms;
When the feature to be able to set custom player permissions in local worlds and LAN games was put in, there was a huge oversight by the team that implemented that so that it essentially broke player permissions on Realms. We then removed player permissions all together back in the spring of 2018.
We then overhauled player permissions on realms introducing the ways to control permissions on realms, using the operator, member and visitor player roles. You are also able to set a default permission level for players joining the realm. We currently don't support custom permissions, and I understand that this a feature that you would like to see in the future, but currently this is not something we are looking at.
This bug describes the the pre overhaul state:
This is fixed. There are other issues with player permissions on some platforms, iOS most notably, which should be fixed in upcoming releases, but imo this issue should be closed. Let me know if you have more comments around player permissions.
Sorry for the delay, we were focusing on our crash issues but will look into this. Stay tuned
We investigated this issue and checked the Biome Project add-on - and an old broken version of this pack with the same exact version number already exists in realms databases. When uploading the current version, Realms services will still pick the old version, and this is why the pack does not work. Please update the add-on with a new version number everytime the pack is updated.
Resolving as "works as intended". We will be updating our FAQ section on minecraft.net to better instruct on how to fix issues with packs that work locally but not on Realms.
WHY DOESN’T MY ADD-ON WORK ON MY REALM WHEN IT WORKS IN MY LOCAL WORLD?
There are several differences on how Add-Ons work in a Realm, compared to applying to a local world. In fact, your own created Add-Ons on Realms need to follow the same rules as any Marketplace Add-On. This means that Add-Ons you develop yourself or download from the Internet needs to have a unique ID, UUID. If the UUID already exists, your Add-On will not be applied. Also, whenever you have updated the Add-On you need to change the version number, for example increasing from 1.0 to 1.1.
If you find your Add-On does not work as intended on Realms, make sure to check the following:
Remember that for your own Add-Ons – create a unique UUID and make sure to update the version number when uploading a new version to Realms!
Please contact support if you have issues with your account. This is a issue tracker, and should not be used for these kinds of reports.
Does this still occur for this pack? Please give a proper step by step instruction on how to reproduce this issue. Please note that we are not familiar with your pack and can not investigate if you do not point out exactly what is not working.
There are not nearly as many users affected by rollbacks, but we acknowledge this is still happening rarely for some users. Reopening issue.
We've rolled out 3 hotfixes on Realms since 1.13, we are currently running 1.13.3 on Realms servers. The latest hotfix rolled out about 2 hours ago and for every hotfix you should be seeing more stable Realms servers.
This should now be fixed.
If you have a Realm with City texture pack applied and you still see issues, you might need to perform these steps:
1. Go to Realms settings, and remove city texture pack from the active packs in the Resource pack tab.
2. Delete the city pack from the device by going to Settings and select the Storage tab.
3. Find the city pack in marketplace and redownload it.
4. Go back to Realms settings and activate the City pack again.
You will need to login to your account settings and ensure that you have ”Join Multiplayer games” AND ”You can create and join clubs” allowed on xbox.com. For Xbox Live account assistance contact Xbox Support. For help with a Mojang account contact Mojang support.
Resolving as per latest comments.
This is a Realm specific issue, and you need to reach out to Mojang Support to be able to resolve the issue.
We are tracking this issue in #2037
Please update the description of this issue to more clearly describe your issue. This helps the devs understand the issue quickly.
We recently resolved an issue with City texture pack adding PureBDCraft pack. If it's still showing up, please try the following:
1. Remove the city texture pack from the realm.
2. Go to main menu and open Settings, navigate to the Storage tab and remove the city texture pack. Remove the pureBDCraft pack too if it shows up.
3. Go to Marketplace and redownload the city texture pack.
4. Go back to Realm settings and re-enable the City pack.
Let me know if this resolves your issue.
We had an outage on Oct 21 which cause these errors. Closing ticket.

Please do not use the bug tracker for support or questions. Either send a support request or post a question on reddit. Thanks!
That said, if you're not logged in, the join realm button won't show up.
Please don't use the bug tracker for these kinds of issues. Reach out to our support for problems with payments. They can help you with this. http://help.minecraft.net
We are aware this is still happening, but we are seeing it happening much less often than a few weeks ago.
That said, we are working on reducing the number of crashes down in both server and client. We are also working on revamping how we do backups on Realms, so that the Realms service will increase resilience against server crashes.
Note that if your Realm is not saving progress at all at any time, you should reach out to our support so that our support team can take a look on your specific case. Under normal conditions, roll backs should now happen
Which device are you trying to extend realms on?
This is a support request, please reach out to our support for help on payment issues for your Realm.
Thanks, for the report, we're looking into this issue.
I'd like to understand this issue and investigate. Can you upload the pack here? If you do not want to share publicly I can make this issue private until I remove the pack.
If you are the owner of the club, and have deleted your Realm but the club is still present, please reach out to Xbox Live support for them to delete the clubs for you. The club is supposed to be deleted with the Realm.
If you have an expired Realm, but haven't deleted it, the club will still be around until you delete the Realm.
If you are not the owner, you can just leave the club. This will also mean you will leave the Realm.
In general, anything that requires the "Experimental gameplay" toggle to be turned on is currently not supported on Realms. We'll let you know when we add Experimental gameplay support to Realms.
With Realms plus, we worked on a lot of features to better support both marketplace content and user generated content on Realms.
Is this still happening for you?
This has been fixed. You might need to delete BMC from the device cache to remove it from showing up in the Realms resource packs settings screen. You can do this in the Settings/Storage/Cached Data menu.
This is a dupe.
Also note that any feature that requires the experimental toggle does not function in Realms. We are looking into on how to support experimental gameplay on Realms.
This can happen if the device fails to load the offers from the store. It should be a transient error, try again.
Please contact our support for this issue. This is a bug tracker, and we can't help you with individual purchasing issues. Our support can however, and either make sure you get your Realm or refund your money!
Please reach out to our support team at help.minecraft.net. They can help you get a refund!
Thanks for the report, we will take a look at this pack to see what is going on.
Thanks all for posting comments here. We are still working on two different work streams here; making sure roll backs are limited even though the server crashes, AND increasing the stability of the server so that crashes do not occur that often.
I understand! The reason for having custom crafting recipes behind the experimental toggle I can't answer to unfortunately. This is decided by the game play teams. The fact that experimental does not work on realms is a bug, and I hope we can get it fixed. I have no ETA for that though.
Loot tables does not seem to require the experimental flag in a local world and on Realms in a quick test I did.
Closing a Realm does not stop the subscription, it is only a way to stop people from joining. If you want a refund, please start a support ticket at help.minecraft.net.

Sorry, this is a bug tracker. Please reach out to Mojang support for issues like this at help.minecraft.net
Please reach out to help.minecraft.net for any issues with purchasing, billing, etc.
Custom recipes outside of experimental flag is on the roadmap but there's no current ETA. I wouldn't expect it to land within the next minor updates, sorry about that.
We have a number of issues reported on Realms where uploads fails. I am consolidating all of them as dupe to this bug.
We have a lot of issues reported on failures to upload. Duplicating this to be tracked in REALMS-474.

Thanks everyone for your patience! I know this is not acceptable and we are working hard to solve all these issues as quickly as possible.
We will be tracking the chunks issue in

This is not the place to ask for help in maps purchased on Marketplace, sorry.
There is no known issue with Chroma hills pack. Try downloading a backup of your realm, resetting it and reupload the copy. If that doesn't work there might be something wrong with your realm, and you should reach out to our support. Closing this ticket.
This looks like a support request and not a realms bug. Please contact Mojang support at help.minecraft.net
Is this specific to Realms or happens in a local LAN world as well?
Not enough information to be actionable.
If the problem persists, please contact our support and let them know we need to take a look at what server version your realm is running.
Thanks for the report. In general, there's an issue with Realms rejecting some resource and behavior packs silently, without informing the user on why. We agree this makes it really hard to develop and use your own packs on Realms. I am updating the title and description to reflect this.
Re-opening and moving to bedrock game as dupe
REALMS-2685mentions servers as well.Ack. There's an issue where sometimes the server is in a load spike, players are not able to eat.
Dupe to
REALMS-2444for eating andREALMS-2432for crafting.Moving to bedrock project - freezes and crashes is a general xbox client issue.
Thanks for this lengthy report and request. I agree fully. The current process of settings up accounts for a family leaves a lot to wish for. However that is outside our control on Realms, we need to deal with both Microsoft accounts and platform accounts - in this case Nintendo accounts.
We are looking into a refresh of the UI, and better feedback and flows when adding users to the realm. Note that an alternative way to invite all the users to the realm would be to give them the invite code. This process also is in need of a UI refresh. This is already on our backlog, but as this is not a bug per se I am resolving this issue.
Please reach out to support, that way we can take a look at your specific realm and your issue. help.minecraft.net.
Realms is not available on PS4 at this time.
Too little information to be actionable.
Book and quill, as well as other user input text, might be filtered explicit language if used on Realms.
This seems like a report of multiple known issues. Closing.
It seems you are not invited to the Realm anymore, please ask your friend to send another invite. This UI shows up when you have no owned Realms, and are not invited to any Realm.
This has been fixed now.
Can you please upload the pack you are trying to apply. If this is not something you want to share with everyone, you can turn this into a private issue.
This is a support request, create a support ticket at help.minecraft.net and they can refund or create the realm for you.
To see all the content included in the subscription, launch Marketplace and go into your inventory. You can find the inventory button at the top left of the Minecoin icon.
This could either be due to how each player privileges are setup on https://account.xbox.com/settings (there are settings for allowing chatting) or that a player is muted due to previous usage of swear words or other not allowed content.
Experimental gameplay is not supported on Realms.
Today we deployed another big hotfix to only Realms, which has a lot of fixes to crashing and roll backs. It should also help preventing any more Realms to get into a bad stage. This update is rolling out seamlessly to all Realms and there is no client update to download for this.
We are eager to hear if this solves all of your issues. It my take a while to take affect, so please let us know in the coming weeks if your experience is getting better.
We are so sorry for the inconvenience these issues have caused, and we are working hard to continue improve the quality and performance of Realms for all of you.
